Like to know why my speedo at times it reads about 20 to 30 mph lower at times. Then when I stop and shut the bike off and restart it and go ridding aging it's stays that way for a week or so then it gets massed up aging. thanks

Check the speed sensor that is located on the top right side of your transmission case. It is held on by an allen head screw and pulls out of the case easily once the screw is removed. The bottom surface of the sensor will collect dirt and metal shavings from the tranny. Once you clean off the sensor and reinstall it you will most likely not see a problem with your speedo again. If the sensor was coated, you might also consider changing the tranny fluid to get ride of the contaminates.

I had this same problem with my 2003 FLHT. I took it to the dealer and one of the service gurus advised me that for some reason some Harley speedos do this if you turn off your bike using the key rather than the kill button. I thought it sounded kind of hokey but tried it. I always used the key to shut off the bike. Since I started using the kill button, lIt has not done it since. Give it a try and let me know if it works for you as well.
