| Re: Oil thread There just going with the lowest bidder for making their oil. I use Redline and don't like the HD branded oil.

| Re: Oil thread Just put the Amsoil in my glide the temps are decent 200-210' but I'm hearing more noise from the upper end this winter will be Redline treatment I think
Redline oil made by redline sold at fair prices
* 20w50 Motorcycle oil
* Shockproof V-Twin transmission gear oil
* V-Twin Primary case oil 75w140
Forgot to mention don't buy Amsoil at stealer - the price has been stepped by a bunch of coke dealers or something lots of good retailers with same product cheaper!

| Re: Oil thread Here's a little tidbit about more top end noise when using syn oil from Scott Palmer at Hillside Motorcycle, makes sense to me...thought I'd pass it on.
The noise that I suspect your hearing, is that fact that the synthetic is becoming much thinner at operating temps, than the dino oil, and not maintaining lifter pump. With that, it creates a very small amount of lash between the pushrod, and the radius pocket in the rocker arm.
Another option, could also be to install a pressure shim, or spring.
HD & Hugo....another good reason not to buy overpriced Genuine HD oil. |
