I've got an 02 RK with a Mikuni 42 with BUB slip-ons. I want to go with a True Dual set up. I'm looking at either the Vance & Hines or Bub headers. The V&H are about $140 cheaper. They appear to be the same, so I assume it would come down to fit and finish?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Bill

I just completed the install of V&H True Dual Headers with V&H Ovals on my 05 Road King. They look SHARP and the install was pretty easy ... even for me!!

Fit, Finish, Quality and Customer Support always goes to V&H hands down. Unless Bub has changed the header design a bunch, the V&H will also out perform them to the tune of 20 ft lbs of torque. We used my 2KRK to test the Bub X-Dresser true dual headers against the new V&H true duals when they came out. We were very surprised at the difference in the torque and the curve. Although they look similar, there are differences in the bends and the V&H seems to make more gentle, flowing bends.

With the Hooker or the V&H ovals as a baseline using the Bub X-Dressers, the V&H outperformed them at all points in the curve showing no evidence of a reversion dip at all.

I like the V&H true duals a lot and would recommend them hands down.

The Rineharts will only accept 2" inlet mufflers so you must run their mufflers or wait and see what comes down the pike.

I am still waiting for that test set to arrive from Bub that they promised last August. Guess I'll need to call again and ask Rocky. Need to catch up and see how the new sound deflection desigins are coming out.

I really would like to get them tested prior to doing some minor head work I am planning.

Thanks for the great replys. I couldn't wait as I had $$ begging to be spent, So after looking around at several message boards and some additional posts here. I went and bought the V&H True Duals last wekend and installed them. I'm bring in the bike to be serviced and put on a Dyno to be re-jetted and I'll report back what kind of numbers I get.
