I just installed V&H straightshots on my 99 fatboalong with the scream eagle breather and air filter. When I took it out for its test run I was expecting some indications as to what sort of adjustments needed to be made to the carb. But it ran great!...... in all ranges. What am I missing?
All my info tells me I am supposed to re-jet but the way it runs tells me to leave it alone. Maybe I don't know what i'm missing.

Depends it may be the weather etc, LOL watch your fuel mileage if you go into the 50's you're lean, while it's great to get 50 MPG you're running to little fuel

Typically you should bump the pilot jet and raise the needle one notch as the factory leans them out on the bottom for mileage purposes.

Drill out the AF mix screw cover as well for adjustment as needed.

typically, you should have a 190 main jet in there now, that is stock, bump it up to a 195. You would also want to bump up the slow jet to a 48, 45 should be stock. Put in a new set of spark plugs. Run the bike down the highway for about 20 - 30 miles. shut it off and look at you spark plugs, they should be golden brown. If they are white you are running to lean, and if they are really black, you are running too rich. Hope this helps.

I've got the jet kit from V&H, it looks like a Dynojet kit to me.
Might as well install it and tune it and see what happens. It makes sense to install different jets, I was just surprised the boy ran as good as he did, I was expecting sputtering and crappy performance.maybe Kwalker is right
rejetting should give it that extra kick. Oh well, it's been sunny and in the 70's, I'm ridein one way or another. Thank's for the input.
