| I have a 93' FXR. I love the bike but I am too tall to ride comfortably with the stock foot controls. I want put a set of forward controls on. I am fairly good with working on the bike but have never touched the transmission. I just wondered if this was something that I should be able to handle. Any tips or suggestions would be welcome. |

| If you by a set new, they usually come with pretty understandable directions as long as you're comfortable using tools and are mechanical, you should be fine.
Good Luck! |

| Fairly easy. I did it to my 94 Dyna and my wife's 96 1200 Sporty. You can get them in a wide variety of price ranges, but my suggestion is to go with a more reputible vendor. Nothing worse than to have linkage go craps in the middle of a long ride! If you have a decent mechanical ability (basic engine work on a car), you can do forward control install in a matter of hours. ou'll appreciate the difference....like riding a whole new bike! |

| Kuryakyn makes about the best bang for the buck controls. Pretty heavy duty stuff, well finished, replacement parts can be had and they don't break the bank. <https://www.directparts.com/cgi-bin/...Product/KA9069
There are cheap(er) controls but stay away from them as they wear out and there are no replacement parts to be had. There are tons of controls in the $500+++ range so loads of choices there also. |

| Thanks for the replies. I went with the kuryakyn. They were pretty easy to install and are absolutely the way to go. |
