| Don't know many guy's that can buy anything and just leave it alone. We all want to give it our own touch. My stock motor really didn't run very good, a few bolt on performance parts and I like the way it performs now. I've been told by several friends that you never really finish adding stuff to your bike, but I think I'm close to bolting on all the chrome I'm going to put on it. I'll post some photo's soon. I'm very happy with my bike. RIDE ON!!! |

| I think for some of us older riders in the beginning if you didn't work on your bike you didn't ride it you pushed, so modifing became a habit. Dutch |

| Its like a neighbor mine said when I first got my scooter, If you want to be unique, leave it stock. As to the question of if you ever stop changing, My answer is, I'm only $2000.00 from finishing. |

| I hear ya, whether it was crappy British electrics, or things HD should have done but just didn't bother to, like continuous lubrication to the cam bushing, the alternative was push. And now....well I just think tinkering with my ride is almost as cheap as seeing a shrink...and a lot better at relieving stress than prozac, without those sexual side effects...Ride Free.... |

| most people don't run out and start re-doing new vehicles when they buy them.... maybe tint the windows..and all....but for reasons of many HD is different
they put some parts from the factory you pay for them then turn around and buy a part even more expensive than the orginal and change it out!@?#?$??? ...then HD leaves off parts....room for altering to their benefit in the parts businesss and to allow the fullfillment of the Egos of Manhood(and even more women now)
Some how we get into the mode making of our "own taste"....on our own rides..a BIG win for HD...
in the beginning the additions" were more like maintenance to keep it going(to me and what I can remember around me).... early British "choppers" (Nortons mating with Triumphs)...then Captain America sent things turning.....LOL...... Everyone wants to be unique now but instead of building your own custom part they can be purchased....just like some else will have?
Could be it GENETIC? |
