Since we put up this new board we are now at 1,010 members. Adding that to the over 1,000 members from the old board and the over 500 members from the original board it is pretty cool to have the participation we have experienced.

I get feed back all the time about how friendly Bike Talk is and they are right! I seldom if ever have to act as the Sheriff and that is pretty cool to me.

We have pretty good mix of both Metric and H-D riders and for the most part everyone realizes that it is not about the brand, it is about the ride. A far cry from the early days of BBS style boards. Many of us remember the MO wars and how it became nothing more than a "my key board can beat your key board" crap slinging fest. I for one got so fed up I opened Bike Talk in 1997 just to have an alternative to the war zones.

The tech advice comes from many sources and my hat is off to HRK for all of his sound advice and Goose for his many posts about racing and riding. And, to all of the others that take the time to help out or to simply reply with a friendly hello to new members I thank you.

A cumalitive 2,500 members since 1997 Aint a bad thing at all.

If you are a lurker or a member that has not posted recently, jump on in! The place is friendly, the drinks are cold and you can always keep your eye on your ride in this virtual joint.

Cool!!! Great Job CD.
Does that mean I can go home now? I need a bath.
BTW. After breaking my left wrist in January, having surgery which included a steel plate and 5 screws I finally rode the bike today. The wrist was a little sore from the clutch and the dirt road but IT WORKS! Looking forward to the ridding season.

Thumbs up

Hey CD! Congrats on the board!! I know that I really enjoy it! I have looked around a couple other boards and none seem to be quite as friendly. I am hooked on this one! Keep it up!

Bobcat, Sorry to hear about the wrist.....I broke my L wrist back in '91 after falling off my Kaw Ninja 600r at about 60mph.....only thing that broke was the wrist....course, helmet and leathers looks a bit worse for ware.....and I felt like a truck hit me for about a week......stiff and sore. Was a total pain! I still to this day, feel some weather changes coming before they get there. Oh well, guess anytime you travel 180 yards without your bike or protection and can walk away from it is a good day! Hope you are riding totally well and mostly pain free soon!

Go to the topic Bike Talk Ride (down near the bottom of the topics.....tech talk, welcome mat.....etc). This years "event" is Labor Day Weekend (and as I understand it, will continue to be on that weekend. But for ALL the info, check out the thread!
