In WWII from Dec 1 1941 to Dec 31 1946 16.1 million men and women served.

Over 292,000 gave their full measure.

Over 671,000 wounded in action.

In the 2000 census, WWII vets reported were 5.7 million. More than half were dead and by the time we got around to building a memorial, it was more like two thirds were gone.

Everyday, 1,500-2,000 WWII Vets die. That's each and every day of the week.

If this song and these images don't make you a little misty eyed and a whole
lot proud, I have no idea what would.

not many of them left now. One of the things the vets do now is go from school to school to educate the young..it's been very well received by the young....and us not so young.

Great stuff, CD. Not many people have no one in their family that wasn't a vet in that era. Myself, I had one uncle, one step uncle, one cousin, and knew many more. When I was a kid, we had a guy on my grandpa's deer lease that had a prosthetic leg from the war. Just so many I knew as a kid in the 60s. Truly, they were our greatest generation.

I bought a used 2001 Harley Davidson Low Rider. The bike was bought by a dealership Motorcycles of Manchester NH. (MOM'S)
They buy and sell all brands of motorcycles. I bought this bike with 4200 miles on it. It had a K&N air filter and slash cut exhause with a non removable baffle on the outter pipe area. They were very loud but the bike ran excelant.
I checked the plugs and they were clean and in great condition. The motor has a lumpy sound to it like a larger than stock cam was installed. The owner was not told weather or not the owner modified the motor. He called the phone number of the origional owner and it was unlisted.
Is there anyway I can do any test to find out if the motor was modified?
I have a friend and we had a race on a highway and he said that my bike has to have motor work because I was faster than his 95 inch Harley. Is there anyway to tell doing a compression test?
Thank You John

CD, Thanks for sharing. We all need a reminder now and then about how fortunate we are to have men and women that have given everything to preserve our GOD given rights and freedom.
