Hi everyone, Just wanted to know if anyone has ever ridden on snow? I have. Its very tricky and you have to go slow, can't brake need to wear good boots with lots of tracktion. Just some tid bits of advice for the occasion. Had to ride home once in it. five miles of shear adreneline . It was either that or leave the bike. Snow was just starting to pack on the road. Kept the bike straight and slow legs tucked close to the tank with turn signal and headlight on just for further precaution. And to trip people up. Of course it isn't any every snow day occurance for me. Just waitin on the next blizzard. fireitup |

I try to make a point of skiing on snow instead of riding a bike on it but it has happened a "few" times. One year I got a triple whammy in one weekend. got snowed on in British Columbia, next day got Ice fog and freezing hail in northern Idaho and then had a white out riding back home to Alberta..what a weekend that was..you sure learn how to be real smooooooooth with the controls | |

| i have ridden in snow, and it was treacherous at best!!! it can be done, but you have to be carefull. slow and easy does it, and no quick or sudden moves....it sounds like your nearly a veterean on snow now tho!!! lol stay safe and have fun

oh ya, my experience with snow riding was on a 49 pan bobber/chopper with hand shift, foot clutch....many, many years ago.....during my misspent youth!!!  | |

| Riding in the snow ain't too fun..done it more times than I can count in Colorado when I didn't have a choice.
We were coming back from Saratoga, WY towards Colorado one year when a group of about 8 riders wanted to take the Snowy Pass road (unbelievable gorgeous rode) east towards Laramie, WY. My buddy and I thought..what the hell. About 5 miles down the road a rider is coming back at us waving to turn around. Since there were snow flakes in the air..that seemed prudent. Seems over half that group of 8 ahead of us started doing down one by one at slow speed behind a snow plow..one lady broke her ankle..fortunately that was the only casualty. Needless to say we took the shortest route to Steamboat Springs.

So i ain't the only one done that. was a long time ago. and you sure do have to be smooth with the controls. Nobby tires that is funny. No snow today and i would prefer the south just for that reason. fireitup | |

Chuck you had the pan shift. do you still have it? a friend of mine has a 53 harley i guess it is a pan but it has a shift. never had seen one before didn't even know they made them he still has his. They are beautiful bikes. fireitup | |

| Only ever rode my dirt bike as a kid in the snow. We used to have a little XR75, and we'd take it to the pond down the street from my house. Of course riding it on the frozen pond was a trip, but it was fun. We were stupid kids, whaddya expect? Othen than that, I ain't bustin up my bike to ride in the snow, that's for sure. It took me too many years to be able to afford mine!  | |

| We had snow in Phoenix AZ this past weekend. I'll bet CD got some down Tucson way too.
I've rode in snow once or twice by accident on a street bike. Like Voodoochild I rode in it a lot more when I was a kid on my XR75 or my UT80 and Z50. Even had a front wheel skid for the 50. I think it was for a Trisport or Dunecat but we modified her to fit. Up in the mountains (Crown KIng) where I grew up we used to get alot of snow in the winters | |

 Well its still snowing here and i am getting my bike out of the shop tomorrow. So let you know how the ride home turns out. No spikes, got brakes. Can't use them on the snow. fireitup | |

Got caught years ago coming down from Canadian run in a freak storm.More slush than snow and cold as hell.Wasn't too bad 'til we got down around saratoga,n.y. Karey (ridin' buddy) started wavin' to me and pointing downward as we appraoched a stop light. His feet were froze to pegs. Red light made for some interesting facial expressions. We both wound up on our asses, him from being stuck, me from laughing. Ah the good old days.... | |

Well when it snows out and i see it i don't say "Oh its snowing, i think I'll go for a ride in it, won't that be fun." It beat the circumstances at the time which would of been leave my bike parked on the city street to definitely get damaged or stolen. Now its in the shop and i aint payin no 25 dollars a day storage cause it snowed and i can't ride. i can ride on it. the roads are slush right now it'll be in the 30's later. if it was a major snow storm no. i wouldn't ride on it. I may be dumb, but i'm not stupid. fireitup  | |

| next time it snows...........is gonna ride two up with fire.......and i am gonna be the bit$h on back............giggling..........gonna use my feet for ski's to keep the bike upright........you know ya gotta bend your legs a little for the curves.................

| That would be a classic TRG, some big ole contractor ridin shotgun on the back with some 125lb chick drivin, thru the snow, with yer feet stickin out the sides screamin..........I'm laughin like hell just thinkin about it. Now we really need to get some video footage!! | |
