well, i picked up my 02 custom, yesterday.
drove it home in 30 mph winds, its nothing what i thought it would be, staying on the bike was tirering. my boots have problems staying on the forward controls, wind gusts push this bike all around, and the ride is like a hard tail.i cant even gun it like i want too,for fear of slipping off!!!
i think i have been on my tour glide for to long, cause it dosent wear me out like this bike. maybe after i get a windsheild , and figure out a way to hang on better i will come to like it.
but she is pretty, and quick.

TRG

ps

thank god for my old tour glide!!

That's why you have more than one bike! One for show and one for the road.

truth be told, i actually bought the bike so my 21 year old son could ride with me, but at a rally last weekend sombody desided they needed a bike seat worst than i did,so my tour glide is missing a seat!!!! and it is gonna be a couple of weeks before i can afford to get one. so i am just cruising around on the custom till then. i think i will enjoy the custom a little bit more when i get a windsheild. the tour glide just has me spoiled.
but the custom is kinda fun to ride, between wheelies(wished i could move the foot controls to the back passenger pegs) and burnouts it has brought me back to a miss spent youth. that part is really cooll!!!!
the thing is , i am no longer a young man, i have come acustom to the big ole cruiser. so i will change nothing, and a just enjoy being old. and let my son make any changes that he see's fit.
