Wow! That brought tears to my eyes. Lots of memories, from riding Hwy 50 a few weeks ago to 25 years ago riding on the back of an old Panhead rigid trying to grab some heat from the upswept fishtails on a cool night.

I have a clock I made with the ghostrider in my garage I'd put it in my living room but I have all my harley quilts that my mom made for me before she passed on the walls .she always wanted to ride with me on one of my harleys but was afraid so now I have a vial of her ashes mounted under the seat so now she rides with me always

thanks I always worry when I tell people that. when I went down to phoenix when she died we had to wait a week for her ashes so the day after she passed my uncle took my sister and me to a casino I won 1200 bucs on a slot machine so I used the money to rent a harley. the day we picked up her ashes I took the bike to the funeral home and carried her back to my uncles house we planted two rose bushes in his back yard with her ashes also we planted daisy's around the rose bushes because we thought she would think it was funny to be pushin up daisy's.we called it an old fashion okie funeral

btw
the daisys out grew the roses

Steve, I just might do the same thing with my mom-in-law. She passed on June 7th of 02, (strange how her favorite lottery number was 276......sh*t gives me willy's every time I think of it), unfortunately in Alaska on her dream vacation. She never did get to see Alaska, and I never got to say goodbye. I tear up just thinkin about it, (the keyboards gettin fuzzy already......) Anyway, I think that would be a cool idea to have her with me, although I know a few times she's been there beside me already. We have 1/2 of her ashes here at our house, and half at my bro-in-law's place. We even spread some at her favorite restaurant. Strange how those things play out ain't it.........

ps. I wouldn't worry what anybody thinks.....if it was their mom or someone close to them, they would do the same.

BTW, that David Mann thing was cool, it brings back alot of memories of growin up seeing all the cool bikes. That style of bike he drew was my inspiration for buying my wide glide.

you hear a lot of stuff about how willie g is such an innovator but my opinion is most of his ideas came from the people like the ones david mann drew whats that saying something like "copying is the sincerest form of flattery"I know thats not right but its close but leaves out " as long as you give credit where credit is due"

Man, if that didn't bring back memories. I had an entire wall of my shop wallpapered with David Mann centerfolds. When Easyrider started to dictate the content of the centerfolds, as in soda cans instead of beer bottles, I stopped buying the mag. The lifestyle was lost forever.
