I finally gave in to the cold weather (for a bit LOL) and started the tear down on the Sporty. She was a good girl and ran like a top on her way to the doc office (ok, buddy's garage). To this point things removed include:
Both Wheels
New tire/tub/strip for front and maybe new tire for back. Front cleaned and maybe new spokes (likes me some of them colored ones), Rear CLEANED OMG that thing is horrible dirty and center painted leaving polished AL around outer edge.
Both Fenders
Rear being replaced by custom rework bobbed fender (this is where the lead will go folks and yes I plan to get pics), New paint for both (actually all three cause I want to make the OEM fender match as well, just in case I need it again someday for this bike)
Tank
New paint, new filter on petcock, new fuel lines.
Both Primary and Gearcase covers.
Both gonna get new gaskets and shot with black paint. Thinking about painting the Derby and Chain Inspection plates the same color as the tins if I don't get the purdy derby cover and leave the chain one alone with a good polish job.
Battery and Oil covers.
Both getting painted to match the tins.
Upper Belt Guard
Getting pattern drilled something like the one on the new Nightsters.
Probably leave it black just a fresh shot of paint.
Both sets of controls.
Clean up linkage/possible paint linkage to match tins. Polish levers and maybe replace pegs. Really want to make a set from the 1918 Trench Knife handles.
Removed reflectors from front forks. Need to clean up and paint fork extensions. Probably same black used on bottom end covers. Adding fork gaitors as well.
Sissy bar and seat.
Adding pad to sissybar, would like to change seats but with all the other expense this year that may have to wait until next years project.
I am sure the list will go on. I love my new drug. |

| started a project myself, had some time on my hands so I figured I would build a custom trailer to haul the scoot through the snow toward warmer climates in the winter, hopefully it will mimmic the contures of my glide when it's done. I'll add some pix when I get back to the house also | |

I'll add some pix when I get back to the house also | We built a 4 bike trailer a few years ago. I wasn't the architect of it but had fun cutting steal and riviting sheet metal. We took a 16' travel trailer and strip it down the the frame then built up. I've got some pics I'll post. I'll have to dig them up though. | |

| ok I think I got a pic to upload it is the basic frame work so far made of 1x2 inch tube 2x2" angle for the deck support that will be 1/2" ply wood although the support itself for the bike will be 4" channel the uprights you see are the beginning of the deflector I hope to order the axle in a week or so (x-mas plus pocket change =  ) the coupler is a 2 5/16 ball for 2 reasons 1 thats what I run and 2 chances are it ain't what every one else will run. the angle that supports the deck is lowered 1/2" , the neck is to be decked in 16 ga that is where the front tire of the scoot will set in the chock at, as for those that are wondering about how high it will set I am still up in the air on that one I have been tossing the idea of a self contained airpot/compresser and an air ride system that will lower it close to the ground for a dove tail but if that proves outsibe the wallet it will end up a drop gate style, I add to it this week and add some more pics...p.s. dial up sucks | |

I painted my (no longer used) stock front fender to match my new paint job - two paint jobs ago. I've been hauling it around with me when I move. I almost ditched it this time, but I didn't. | |

| Hey Hot01, I would show you a pic of my shop, but I'm already married! (almost 2200 sq ft total 1st and 2nd floor, with walk up attic storage that's about 10 high in the center) (sorry, I'm very proud of it, and very lucky to have it!!) | yup happly, to the hot chick with me in my avatar, been together for about 22 years, married for 17, 4 great kids, When i asked her a second ago how long she reminded me about a cruise in 2 yrs.  better start saving.
if'n ya get up north here give us a holler if i am in town we can meet up
and that isnt the garage the garage is up at the house the pics are my shop.
40x60, very lucky indeed, blessed if you will. | |

| thanks for the pics and commentary!!! nice shop.....my garage/shop is a bit smaller than yours....2100sq ft, not including the 60x15 carport. the sad thing is, i have run out of room!!!! lol lol how do ya keep it so clean???? | |

| That's some good looking work from both of you , & I just work out of my 2 car garage , has 3 bikes in it No car's , shop is still in the making (use it for stoage now  ) about 1400 sq ft | |
