So, I took my cape to the taxidermist today....I had NO idea what to expect when picking up my "cape".......Boy was I suprised!! smallish garbage bag with all the deer hide, head, and antlers sticking out!!! Not the same condition I left him there in!!! Got to the taxidermist and he opened the bag.....laid the head down, and laid out the cape..... was an interesting lesson I had on some of the prepwork!!! Here is a link for the mount that I am going to have.... WASCO Deer Mannikins And below should be a pic of the actual horns and the cape in pancake form!!!

Nice! I've never hunted so I can't say anything intelligent about it, but it looks impressive with all those horny parts.

For those that know anything about deer....this one ended up being aged at 7.5-8.5 based on teeth....had a 21 inch neck, and ball park, scored 115 or so....not a huge trophy, but mine was "wild" and "range", not the typical 10 foot fence with some semi tamed deer turned loose for the shooter..... I am more then happy and very pleased!

Mine is "job #112"..... starting Jan 21 (end of deer season) he will begin doing the jobs from this year.....30 at a time, and he estimates 30 deer in 30 days.....so I am guessing may/june.....maybe a bit sooner, maybe a bit later....IF I get orders, he is willing to move things up if needed.
