| Have a buddy that is looking to sell a Jeep..... was offered a trade.... I am posting descriptions of both jeep and bike, and pics of both.....what do you think?
1999 Custom Titan Gecko RM (rubber mounted) motorcycle. The motor is a 96 cu in S&S. This was a demo bike that was used at shows to depict the type of bike that Titan builds. Contains every available option including oil cooler, custom paint by Airea 5150 in Arizona, custom matching leather seat, inverted front forks and 'works' nitrogen rear shocks, S.S. cables and hoses, etc. The bike has only 2600 actual original miles and needs nothing. I just put front and rear tires on it, 200 MM Dunlop rear.
This would be a trade for a 1976 CJ5
Description
1976 CJ-5 Jeep with an AMC 304 V8 that has a rebuilt top end
Rebuilt T-150 3-speed with fewer than 50 miles (rebuilt at Nogalitos Gear in San Antonio)
The AMC 20 rear axle was upgraded to a Superior 1-piece axle with fewer than 500 miles (installed at Nogalitos Gear in San Antonio)
New rear drive shaft
New fuel tank
New power steering gearbox
The ignition system was upgraded to a D.U.I performance distributor
Completely new exhaust system that includes new Edelbrock Shorty Headers with true dual exhaust with Magnaflo mufflers
4” Superlift Suspension System
There is no carpet, but the floor has been lined
Full Best Top cover with full doors (Cloth) and a Bikini Top |

| start with the question what do you want? then do you really use the bike and will you use the jeep, after that blue bookem to get the dealing done. your value on the bike might be alot more than the jeep than you think, which brings us back to what do you want |

What he is looking for is people that may have some input as to what the approx value of the bike is...it will help him decide if the trade is equil or not..... he has ridden in the past, not sure he wants this bike for his own riding, but he is willing to entertain the idea if the jeep value and the bike value are about the same.... He listed his jeep on Craigs list for something like 9800ish....hoping to get between 8500 and 9k...... he would like the bike to be worth around 9k before he would "swap"....... |

| AFN I did'nt even know you had a second bike , but like asked above what will you use more ? if even just as good tranportion , you havr to think of what you have in the bike verses the jeep , I cant remember any thing about the 304 Amc , but it should be decent on gas & better in the rain & cold |

| figuring that it probably has flawless paint, and just looking at pics and comparing them to other custom bikes of the same basic structure, I would estimate the resale at or above the 15,000 mark at the least, I am confident you would get offers all day long, at 17,000 |

| Cowboy, The jeep belongs to a next door neighbor....bike is something that someone else offered him in trade....he is only going through me for info as he knows that I "may have some knowledge, or places to get that info!"......
Ironhorse: I also have not seen it..... neighbor has only showed me the pic (don't think he has actually seen the bike yet....just an offer based off a craigs list add for the jeep). From what I am seeing on the net, looks like he is going to be a fool to pass up on the trade.....for future re-sale if nothing else! |

| your saying that the jeep owner is the possible fool If he passes i belive he would be foolish, if the bike owner trades it straight then he would be the fool. I thought it was your hidden toy as the post stated that you have just put on tires, another thing to remind him of is before the trade make sure he checks the tanks for corrosion as the 2600 miles and 9 yrs mathmatics factors that rust is a good possability not to mention other little problems from setting besides the tires, oil ,belt ,gaskets, etc. |

| If he can pull 9 grand out of the Jeep, then he has a real future in sales.
OTOH, if he doesnt like the bike, then he's just left with something else to sell
The problem with anything custom, is what you like isn't a garantee the next guy will. However, you never know when someone looking to build something suddenly realizes he can buy already built cheaper.
I know some Jeep guys around here, and I doubt any of them would be too hot to dump that for a 75. What the bike is worth I havent a clue. Athough I actually like yellow, I hope the paint looks better in person than in the pic.
MHO ofcourse. |

| The bike is worth more than the Jeep. If it was a CJ-8 he'd be doing better, but the shorty CJ-5 is not that wonderful a rig. I have a CJ-7 with more good mods than that 5, and know that I'd never get over $6K for it unless I found some real over-eager sucker. Tell him to jump on the swap. Though I doubt I'd make the deal, because I do love my Jeep too much. |

| Ditto..that Gecko is easily worth twice what the jeep is. Those short wheel-based jeeps are a death trap (know 2 guys who died driving those damn things as they flip in a heart beat). |

| well, gave the neighbor the info provided...he has decided to press and ask the guy if he wants to proceed with test drives and such.....if even up trade, think he MAY go for it if the bike looks ok. |
