| My brother and I will be going the week before the official start of Sturgis. Most of the vendors and attractions are set up the week before . Rooms are still regular price and 60% less people. |

Heading out on the 2nd from So Cal. Going by the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Arches NP, then up from Rifle, CO thru Steamboat to Walden. Staying a Rushmore KOA 5th,6th, & 7th. Riding the Hills, Spearfish Canyon, Devils Tower, Hulett, Sturgis for a couple days. Wifes first trip, so we're going when everyones there. She wants to see the zoo!! Won't be in Sturgis but for a few hours. Then back home via So. Colorado, Pagosa Springs, Durango,etc... Put new RK High bars on the bike last weekend, greased the front end, new fluid in the front legs, headlamp, drivinglamp and ordering a new windshield in a day or so... Come on August!!! |

| Would love to, but bike is in storage in TX, and I am stuck in the sand/dust of Iraq...can't convince my chain of command that I need emergency leave for Sturgis, SO, that means I will miss it. |

I am not going to Sturgis this year either (obviously I got lesser reasons than you), but when I think about not going it just tears me up inside. I love taking that week to ride around the country, going camping, meeting new people. It's like an addiction. I need the 12 step Sturgis program. Next year though and let's not forget 2010 the 70 year anniversary.. yeeaah |
