| Nothing but sunshine here....woke up to 94*....that was at 0515...... and has been this temp last 4-5 days....makes for a REALLY hot afternoon.....and isn't cooling down much in the evening! 2100hrs will still find it over 105*. Daytime temp someplace north of 120-130..... I am starting the process of thinking about where I should move to at the end of my 4 years in San Antonio..... Think my list may end up looking something like Hill AFB UT, North Dakota (2 bases, Minot and Grand Forks!), South Dakota (near Sturgis), and Elmendorf Alaska (Anchorage). It may very well be in that order...... should think about coming up with a #5 also...... Not sure what my wife will say in the order but those are the choices she wants on the list so far. By the way....anyone know anything about the area around Hill??? Just looking for info right now!
Not much else going on here...keeping busy. People keep surviving things that the reasonable person would say "can't be survived"....totally mind blowing. I have pics that I will not be able to show most people....they won't be able to handle what they see. Been a great experiance, but am ready to come home.....less then a month!!!! Can NOT wait to get a cold brew!

| I'm not sure where Hill is, but I'll MapQuest it. I think most of Utah is nice, and you'll have plenty of good weather for riding. Out of all the places you mentioned, I like Utah the best. |

| I lived up by the Grand Forks base it is flat as can be up there. No trees, hills or lakes for miles. The one in South Dakota is near some very nice riding.

| Malmstrom AFB, Great Falls MT.... Great riding, hunting and fishing. Spent two years there andd loved it.
Is why not Minot still open? Thought after the Buffs left and the silos were closed it was gone.
Hill is smack dab in the city of Ogden and we were up that way last year. Neat area and a lot of great riding and other activities.
Mountain home is North and west but a little in the middle of no place.
Of course there is always Thule (coldest place I ever was stationed by far) that would cool you down some |
