A friend of mine sent me this picture he said that he was not aware of the tornado until he took a picture of the lightning. All I can say is holly crap, run.

My friend Rick in his E-mail to me said

THIS IS A PICTURE THAT LESIA CASANOVA'S HUSBAND TOOK IN THE GULF OF
MEXICO

HE WORKS ON AN OIL RIG AND DURING A STORM HE WAS GOING TO TAKE A
PICTURE OF THE LIGHTNING.

HE WAS UNAWARE OF THE TORNADO UNTIL THE LIGHTNING ILLUMINATED IT.

PRETTY AWESOME, HUH?

This is a one-in-a-million photo..............Rick

Great! Tornados are right up there with snakes when it comes to nightmares. It is pretty cool though.

Yea, just fires and earthquaks....

If I lived in an area that had Tornado's or Hurricanes, I think I would move.

Neat picture but I bet it's photoshopped

Check out the night sky around the derrick, different color and you can see
squares of different color, a pretty good indication it's been "altered"

either way I try and not ride in either.

Prefer hurricanes.

Thumbs up

'Sides the fact that it is over water. Therefore. It isn't a tornado, but a waterspout. Somewhat like a tornado, but over water. Unless of course the oil derrick is just off shore...

Ooooopsie.... Just noticed on the closeup that the derrick is on land... Oooopsie!!!

Last edited by mwelych : Oct 15th, 2008 at 04:53 PM. Reason: cause of an Ooooopsie!!!

I lived 44 years in Cali. never had an earthquake do more than slosh some water out of my pool Im in texas 3 years and had to evacuate TWICE and go through major crap I will take quakes any time. I think ist whatching them for 2 weeks and listening to the news that gets to me in a quake it happens and its over good or bad just natural selection

Worst thing in Las Vegas besides the summer heat is the occasional heavy winds. Had some 70 mph winds earlier this year knock down some old sheds a couple of doors down.

Marc..rain..what's that? Oh..where is the tag-line pic of your bike taken? Looks like a cove I've been to down by Coos Bay.

I bought a house that had been partly torn down by a tornado. I told the wife about the scene in the movie "According to Garp" when the airplane hit the house they were thinking of buying...he looks at the plane hanging out of the house and says "we'll take it" then looks at his wife and says "what are the odds of that ever happening again?" House is still standing!!

Kev, that is called Sunset Bay in Coos Bay a really cool little beach with outstanding Sunsets. In our travels around Coos Bay we found some really interesting area, parks and restaurants.
