i normally use oak or hickory or pecan or some mesquite to cook with.....i have a line on some black walnut. i understand that it is ok for beef or pork and terrible with poultry.......any of y'all ever use it and how were your results????

I have some apple, cherry, mesquite, and hickory....no experience with walnut, maple, or peacan

those are all good ones chris...apple and cherry are great to smoke a salmon with!!!!!!!!!! pecan is great for beef and pork!!!

first time I tried cherry, it was with salmon and shrimp....was GREAT. Apple is ok, but not as much smoke..... hickory is great with hamburger!!! I'll have to try finding some pecan.....have not yet found that....everything else I have found in smaller bags at HEB for 2$ a bag.....
