Pull-Pork-Sandwich

Buy a pork roast at Costco. Put in a Crock-Pot cook slow all day, add some BBQ sauce if you want while cooking. Cooks it up real soft. When cooked, pull it all loose with a fork, mix it in a large bowl with your favorite BBQ sauce. Bread, I like the fresh baked Hoagie Roll. Makes a great Pulled pork sandwich for lunch or anytime.
Smoked pork is good to.

Just made me one here for lunch today after a morning 4 plex inspection. I lightly toasted the Hoagie and sure was good.

a slighty twist is to smoke the pork for an hour or so over a low heat, smokey fire.....then into the crock pot..mmmmmmm or wrap the smoked pork in tin foil and continue cooking until done....with the added seasonings inside the foil....

I must be having a change of life lately as I went to our monthly home inspection meeting tonight. We meet at Busters BBQ, great place and yep smoked pulled pork sandwich. Makes me hungry thinking about it.

Re: Pull-Pork-Sandwich

You want to build yourselves one of these:
http://paisnel.co.uk/main.php?g2_itemId=666

I do about 8-10 pigs a year for various people. 120lb pig...4-5 hours quick cooked for a roast, or keep the fire lower temp and cook for 8-12 hours for the 'pulled pork' with the smoked taste

Thumbs up Re: Pull-Pork-Sandwich

Hey Neil,

Looks like a great way to cook a hog, also looks like you folks really know how to enjoy a cookout. Did you build the cooker?

Re: Pull-Pork-Sandwich

Yes, home built.

I have a couple of 5ft tall sgeel water tanks sitting in the yard for the last 8 months. Plan to make a hot smoker, so we can cook for longer and cooler than the open fire allows. So then it will be a 12-18 hour cook time. Maybe it will get built this year...

I can relate to that. I have a lot of things around here that need immediate attention. Our weather has just began to permit outdoor work around the house. We've had more snow this winter than most folks have seen here for a lot of years.

We finally have temps high enough to melt the snow and allow a fellow to get in a bike ride and plow the ground for some early gardening. Planted some peas today.

Re: Pull-Pork-Sandwich

Well we are due another big one this year. Have not done a big farm one for myself for a couple of years now.
The last one got a bit out of hand, the car we were rallying round the fields eventually lost the exhaust, which caused neighbours to complain.
Luckily I had stopped it all before the police turned up....only to have some of the lads hotwire the car once they had gone and start rallying again....had to stop them again...this time T-Boning that car with my landrover, then jumping out and deflating the car tyres with the 12 bore....you should have seen the looks on their faces

And then there was the complaints due the music from the 600Watt stage amp in the workshop

I few more pics on
