I mentioned before that I have had to have the headlight bucket replaced twice now...well I took it back...same problem and the owner tells me that they can't fix it again because, Now listen close, I am OVERREVVING the motor. Over revving is causing the headlight to loosen and vibrate.....I just looked at him and busted out laughing...Then told him to get the service manager cause obviously he had his head up his &^%. Like if the motor is over reviving the rev limiter is screwed up and that needs warranty work as well. he looked like the syntax error went on. I had to explain to him what a rev limiter was and that it being on the bike precluded the sort of problem he had described. He then showed me the printout...and I pointed out that mine was a 2006 dyna glide not a 1976 superglide Then asked how much warranty work they did on 30 year old motorcycles......He stammered and stuttered and called the service dept and I got a new bucket but crap.... I also mentioned to him that I was finally glad to meet him ...after spending as much money as I have with his guys....cripes I guess people just have dealerships now cause it's a cool thing to do with Daddys money.....

Sorry to hear about your troubles Greybear. I'd guess the problem was that they didn't get it right the first two times, and I would bet the Motor Co frowns on the same repair being done multiple times on the same bike. Shows incompetence on the dealers service area. Just like my local Stealership, they actually told me that if I rode the bike in the winter (salt on the roads) they wouldn't honor the warrenty on the chrome and paint. My reply was, "It's not your choice, if you don't stand behind the bike, I'll just call Harley and we'll see how the 2 year warrenty works. You may not have any honor, but I'm betting they do, or at least won't want the bad publicity I'll get this place and their name."

He was pissed, but said he'd back it. I wouldn't ride my 2004 in the salt if I could help it, that wasn't the point. I want it to look good in 10 years too, but they should stand behind it for the 2 years they promise.

Later, Brent

Wink

..sounds like a bad batch of buckets to me. I'm not too familiar with the new Dynas but they don't use the eyebrow mounting anymore? If I remember right, the Dynas really rattled at idle and smoothed out as you spun 'em. I'm not impressed with your dealer though...pretty lame excuse on their part.

Surprised He Didn't Sugest Some Lock Tight My Great ? For Them When I Got My [warr] Was "it's Brand New, Do You Think It's Going To Break After The First Year" Needless To Say I Got The Extended, I'm Going On My 4th Year And Happy To Say All That I've Had To Fix Was A 20$ Primary Gasket That They Wanted Me To Pay The Deductable On. So I Fixed It Myself. Not To Mention The 2 Week Line I Would Have Had To Wait.

That’s hilarious Greybear, I think my evil twin might come out to play if some bonehead tried to give me a line like that… You handled it well.
