Well a couple of weeks ago , I took my daughter to a local HD shop, (stubb's in Houston) for there blues & bike show , she has been wanting to get her own bike , now has a 04 sporty 883C , & I've been helping her learn to ride , there's a schooll a few miles from here with a huge parking lot & wide open , she's doing real good by the way , So I ride it over there & back , now it's only been a couple since I have had a bug/ wind shield on my bike & I sure can tell the difference , I'am now spolied with it & don't know if being in my mid 50's has any thing to do with it I LOVE MY WIND SHIELD

bikerjim1 it never used to be my thing all those years without A W shield (65-04) but now it seem;s & just don't care for the bug's in my face or ears even though it's natural , I sure got used to the bat wing faring

Yep, can get spoiled out on those things pretty quick. Right now I'm "face-in-the-wind", but lately I've been scoping out baggers. Go figure!

I'm kinda partial to sportsters, too. What can I say??

But, I have what passes for a windshield, so can't complain one way too much, I still get enough bugs for the all natural effect, and plenty of wind deflected so I ain't so beat after 2 or 3 hundred miles, yanno?

I had two Sporty's myself. A 1989 1200 4 spd and a 1997 1200 5 spd. The 1997, my brother still has, has a lot of get up and go, off th eline and on the highway. It has a Mikuni carb, Revtech pipes, HO ignition, yada yada yada. The 1989 would top out a little too early for me.

My sister now has a 2006 Sporty 1200C. What a difference. It rides great and has the rubber mounted engine that all but eliminates vibration. It comes stock all chromed out. Now if I could just talk he into waking it up a bit.

MY daughter is 11, and she's ALREADY claimed my XL1200C when I decide to move up to the RK...or maybe the Streetglide.

Sheesh....what if I wanted to trade it in on that new one?
