My letter to B of A

Dear Bank of America,

Tonight I saw a story on my local evening news that Bank of America is planning to issue credit cards to illegal immigrants who do not possess social security numbers. This news is quite alarming and I question the bank's ability to prevent fraud. According to the news story, Bank of America will issue credit cards at a higher rate to those who have a checking account but do not have a social security number. I firmly believe that those who enter this country illegally do not deserve the same rights as those who respect our laws and national security.

As a small business owner and Bank of America customer, I wish to inquire if the bank plans to differentiate these credit cards from those issued to legal citizens. Specifically, will the card number be different or use a unique and identifiable number? In support of my personal beliefs I do not intend to accept credit cards issued in this manner. However if such credit cards belonging to those who violate our borders cannot be identified, not only will I do everything in my power to refuse their business, but I formally request my account with Bank of America be terminated.

Nothing against those from other countries, but I don't believe those who blatantly violate our laws deserve to have credit issued to them. In addition, for a bank to flat out ignore these facts is based on pure greed and irresponsibility.

I do business with those in other countries, and I doubt any of them were able to apply for credit without verifying their identity.

I agree 100% Ken! Why should they have the same rights and privileges as LEGAL American citizens? It's bad enough when they come to our country and don't have to pay taxes for a certain period. Why should we bear the burden of them not paying taxes, health care, etc., etc., I will also inquire at BOA as well, since MY business account is there too! (Greedy bastards!!)

You're right on, Ken! This kind of greed is what lets these kind of lawbreakers survive in this country. They get all public services free at taxpayers expense and now the good customers of BOA are expected to subsidize these who are likely to default on the cards. I don't have anything against legal immigration.....most of our ancestors got here that way, but these illegals are tearing our country apart. Here in Atlanta, we frequently have news reports where a family is wiped out on the highway by a drunk illegal immigrant. They have no license, insurance and probably owe on their car. Everybody loses and we still don't do anything to stop the flow. I don't deal with BOA but those of us that do should take a stand.

The more I think about this the more it angers me. Not so much because it's regarding illegal imigrants, but that our own corporations and institutions are ignoring the law. Not only that, but all financial ethics are being thrown out the window. For example, if a bank issues a credit card to a person who could be deported, then the other bank customers are left to absorb the bill. This also opens the floodgates for fraud. If someone could be granted a credit card without any worry of collections or damage to their credit, what is to stop that person from defaulting?

Seriously, was the CFO who rubber stamped this idea smoking crack?! Probably looked good on paper. I would imagine the conversation went something like... "Hey I have an idea, let's give credit cards to people who don't have social security numbers and charge them a huge interest rate. We'll make a fortune off these poor saps and come off like we care about imigrants".

If I were a BofA shareholder I'd be screaming to have that person dragged through the streets by the short hairs. WTF are these people thinking!!!

Don't get me wrong, while I believe our borders should be closed and enforced, I actually feel sorry for those who have been forced to imigrate here illegally. It's not their fault they come from countries that encourage their poverty stricken citizens to seek refuge elsewhere. I would probably do the same in their shoes. Such countries as Mexico pawn off their poor to the U.S. because they refuse to help their own people. Meanwhile our own government panders to their wealthy leaders in exchange for cheap labor. I don't think there are any easy answers to deal with those already here, but isn't it time we stop the hemorrhaging at the borders and stop rewarding those who break our laws?

the thing is, a great number of citizens agree with what is said here....but, it is the folks in power that need cleaned out. they are too dam scared of offending somebody or losing some pocket change to do anything. most are catering to the hollywood types, couldnt care less about the working man..i have said this before...........

I saw this in the paper this morning and it's just unbelievable that BofA would do this. I bank at Wells Fargo (who bought out my previous bank) and been fairly happy with them, but I'd drop them in a heartbeat if they try to pull a stunt like this. Seems BofA is going to charge a higher interest rate for the illegals (it'll supposedly cover the costs of defaults)..all in the name of money! Bastards!

True enough....for years & years we were always told that you had to have a SSN to open an account. All of a sudden there is a change ? There can only be one reason....money. They must have seen all the cash they were losing to the currency exchanges because the Illegals don't have bank accounts. I really don't see that this will change much, those who are illegal really don't trust any organization that is in the system that reports to the government anyway.

Today Bank of America started getting bombarded with calls to cancel credit cards, according to reports on a local talk radio station. Many callers stated they called the bank to cancel but were shuffled off to other departments or left on hold. Others said they were told by customer service agents that the news stories were exaggerated and not to worry.

Luckily I don't have my main bank account with BofA, only my business credit card. Not expecting to hear back from them regarding my letter, I sent a payoff payment today and will cancel my account once it clears.

I can go on and on ranting about my disgust with how corporate greed found another niche to suckle, but instead I'm putting my money where my mouth is... by taking my money elsewhere

I couldn't agree more. Don't know about the rest of the country but I'm really tired of foreigners and illegals getting everything handed to them. From tax breaks to free health care, it's out of control. Now the government has plans to bring 7000 Iraqi refuges into he US and set them up with a place to live, and provide them financial assistance. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. THIS SH*T IS OUT OF CONTROL.

When are people going to wake up and take our country back from the government? People in this country go about their daily lives in a trans and refuse to realize whats happening. Hitler's quest for world domination failed because his plan was to agressive. However, the Muslims plan has been well thought out. Their plan is to break the back of our country, strip us of our heritage, dismantle our ethical beliefs and assume total control of the United States and it's true citizens.

Keep in mind, money is power and control. It is a fact, that 80% of the wealth in this country is held by 5% of the population. Corporations like Bank of America, Exon, etc., have only one agenda. That is to have power, control by making money, and make no mistake, they will do what ever it takes, even if means selling out the people in this country.

The Muslims quietly started their quest 30 years ago buying up party stores and gas stations. They slept in the back of their stores or pooled their money together and had 6-8 people living in an apartment or small house. The rest of the cash from the businesses was sent back to the homeland to fund other activities and transport more family members into the US. Unlike Hitler, they are very patient in achieving their goal. Time is on their hand. So here we are today. Look at the ownership and financial control they have obtained here in just 30 years. As long as the bleeding heart liberals, the cry babies, and the touchy feely people in this country get their way, the Muslims and other imiigrants will succeed. It's just a matter of time. It might be 20-40 years down the road, but they will not stop in their pursuit of achieving this goal. So we must wake up to reality and stop them in their tracks.

In 1907 Theodore Roosevelt had this to say about immigrants.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it's an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace of origin.
But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag..We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language.. and we have room for but one loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."


We need someone like Teddy to stand up and tell these loosers to F**K Off, get back on the boat and get the F**K out of our country. Unfortunatetly, were stuck with a bunch of a## kissing, back stabbing pu**ies.

I don't have all the answers but it just burns my a** to see our government hand out tax payers hard earned cash to illegals and free-loaders. We have enough free-loaders of our own in this country. We need to take care of our own people. And I don't mean the well-fare leaches or the ones that come from 10 generations of do nothings. I'm talking about the ones that worked all their life, lost their jobs to down-sizing or out sourcing to foreign countries and are now living under bridges or in cardboard boxes.

I'm tired of it too... You can no longer call somebody out for their actions, because for some reason or another its not their fault. At some point its gonna turn around & come to bite us all in the a$$... Look at how terrorists are treated in the media...hezbolla lobs some rockets into Israel & kill some people, then they Kidnap some servicemen. Ok, So Israel retaliates & somehow theybecome the bad guys....I don't understand how this happens. This world is F'd up!
