Nope, you want to own a gun in this country then become a citizen. This is strickly my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Packing.org Concealed Carry (CCW), Concealed Weapon Permit, Concealed Weapon Law : Home
looks to me that more states have been opening concealed carry permits not restricting it.

From a policy expert that studied CHL, CHL holders are more law abiding citizens that non-CHL holders.

Up here in The Great White North, the government has tried to instill a firearms registry plan. There have been HUGE problems, including BILLIONS of dollars spent and no real end in sight. The other problem... only the "good", law abiding are registering their guns... do you honestly think that the criminals are gonna register their stolen, black market firearms?

I can understand what the government is trying to do with regards to gun control... especially considering the abundant use of firearms against police, against students and others in mass shootings, etc. But the reality is that the evil in society will always find a way to get guns... so we need to allow the law-abiding citizens possession of firearms in order to protect their homes and families.

I think that the criteria to option a firearm needs to be more stringent... perhaps references are needed, an extensive background check, etc. I dunno... I agree that something needs to be done, but not the route that is currently being taken.

Our Gov. here in Texas says he believes a CHL should be able to carry his/her weapon ANYWHERE! I agree.
Schools, courts and some businesses where there is 100% gun free are where the mass shootings are happening. Duh! Crooks will not go where there may be an armed and responsible citizen to take his butt out if he were to start shooting.
Here in Texas to get a Concealed handgun license you have to have a fingerprint background check and take a 8 hour course that includes on the range shooting proficiency test. that's enough! Our state also has passed a law preventing just any body writing to our Texas Highway Department (highway patrol) and requesting wheather a citizen is carrying or not.
note the word "concealed". No one should know if i'm carrying or not.

I have a concealed carry permit which, in Georgia, only requires fingerprinting, background check and about $40. That's not too bad but the fact is that all these requirements for registering guns and "permits" to carry imply that it is a privilege to do these things. According to our Second Amendment, it is a right and we shouldn't have to have permission to own or carry a gun. I realize that we will never get around all this red tape but don't think the government is doing you a favor by letting you have a gun. It is your right!!

Amen!
James Madison said, I'm paraphrasing, " the constitution in one hand is no good without a gun in the other!"
