| So, Went to the movie with my wife tonite...went and saw Wild Hogs.....GREAT movie...FUNNY. Wife and I really enjoyed it.....just rolling on home, not a care in the world, talking about the movie when set of cherrys in the mirror..... I change lanes....he changes lanes. Ok, so it is for me....pull over...NOT A CLUE as to what I did wrong...but am guessing that I was speeding...quite honestly tho, never looked at the spedo (was in the van) and was just maintaining with traffic (very little of it on the road). Anyway, got popped for 70 in a 55...... no warning...gave me the full blown ticket.....I stayed civil...... wasn't going to help by getting pissy..... should cost less then 200$ oh well......guess if I deserved it, I got it??!! been over 17 years since I got my last ticket!!! |

| Sorry for the ticket. I went years w/o one, and now have been getting one about once a year the past 3 years..gotta watch it.
I dropped my lady friend off this past week at The Orleans where she was bussed off with a group to do Fast Freddie Spencer's sportbike 2-day clinic at Las Vegas Speedway. Anyway..on the way back that morning I saw a school bus getting ready to pull over to the side of the road (4 lane road). I watched carefully as I know those red lights might come on flashing with the stop sign swinging out. Didn't see it as the bus hadn't come to a complete stop yet, so changed lanes and carefully went around with a couple of other vehicles. I also saw the cop not far behind me, so was being cognizant of the situation. Well..about two lights down the cop pulls behind me (I'm in the left lane) and his lights come on, so I change to the right lane to let him come on up. He changes back to the right and I'm going "what the?" as I'm doing 35 in a 35 knowing he's back there the whole time. I pull over and he's warning me about the school bus. I said I saw it, but the red lights hadn't come on as the bus hadn't stopped yet. He said yes it did, and I went around it illegally with about 4 other cars. I wasn't going to argue, but since I was in my lady's Grand Cherokee and it had Colorado plates on, he thought I was from out of town. Said it's a $300 fine around here and to be more careful while in Las Vegas. I wasn't going to question it since he's letting me go with a warning, but I know that bus's lights weren't on when I went around it. Not sure what he'd done if I said I was a local. He never asked for my drivers license. Guess my little dachshund helped as the cop really liked him..said he and his wife have one at home. |

| gotta keep in mind....this is kinda military central.....I had Window stickers (military), had the military ID right next to the drivers License, had the Iowa DL to boot....told him ya know how it goes with moving in the military when he questioned which address I lived at (vs the registration/insurance)...... Admitted I had not a clue as to what I had done, but supposed that if anything, must have been going a bit fast..... Tried it all...including NOT getting pissed off with him.....STILL didn't help.....thought about reporting to court date in dress uniform and hoping the judge would grant mercy..... have to see if I work that day....if I do, I'll just pay by mail and shut up! |
