| AUSTIN — The Texas House voted early Friday to inject a little religion into the Texas pledge.
Under the bill, the Texas pledge would be: "Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God and indivisible."
They finally got one right, it's good to see that our state is not being fooled into changing with the modern times, of equal rights so to speak. Our founding farthers of this great state, would be proud right now. With the United States tring to change the plege of allegiance, beacuse if offends certain people and there beliefs, give me a break......
I know i am piss%^$ alot of people off with my way of thinking, but we just dont care how you'll do it in washington. In 2003, the Legislature required public school students to say the U.S. and Texas pledges and observe a minute of silence each day.
A student may be excused from saying the pledges if a parent or guardian makes a written request.
I hope other states take notice.....and follow by exsample
Next thing you know......"they'll " be tring to take our guns........ Not in TEXAS!!!!!

| Yo TRG, don't worry, you ain't pissin me off, I agree. I'm sorry but that was the way this country was founded, and I don't think it needs to change. Why is it that other countries don't change their ways to suit everyone else?? (cause they don't have spineless politicians running the place, that's why!) I better stop now before I get myself in trouble. |

| NOIICCCE! I wish the rest of the country would think the same way. That's how The Pledge of Allegiance was written. If you and yours choose not to believe in God, and it bothers you that much to utter the words, simply don't recite that part. WTF! Political correctness has gotten WAY out of hand.
It seems like an AWFUL lot of wasted time and money to remove a few words from the oath when it is a VAST minority that want it removed in the 1st place. Put it to a vote and let the MAJORITY rule and call it a day. Then EFF the rest of them. |
