I have been reading what some people have been writing about the companies that provide the things we use to keep our lifestyle going. I agree that some companies charge more than I like to pay. If I don't like the price, I do with out, find it cheaper somewhere else, make it my self. The main reason these companies charge so much is that there are to many poeple out there with more money than brains. As long as people are willing to pay someone else to do, make, fix, whatever, someone will be more than glad to take every dollar you are willing to spend. I could take my bike, car, truck, to a stealership to get the routine maintance done and spend hundreds of dollars. I don't, I can buy a manual and do most every thing myself. Oil changes are not hard to do. If you are willing to take your problems to someone else to fix, quit your bitching, pay up. If you use the excuse that you don't have the time, knowledge, tools, space. It sounds like bull to me. The right manual will give you the knowledge. Tools are availible almost everywhere. I don't have a garage. I got a tarp and some poles and put up a tent to work in. If you have the guts to take control of your own destiny, fix your own problems, we need people like that. If more people would do this, the big shot companies would notice and do what they need to do to keep us, the customer happy. I guess I vented enough for now, thanks for listening

I think you are on a good line of thought. I would like to suggest this doesn't only apply to material things we (or we and the bank) own. This is sound advice for life in general. If more people would quit the "poor little me" crap and start pulling themselves together rather than asking others to "fix it" for them we all would be better off. I just added the sticker to my helmet Sunday: The lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.

All of life is choices, some we make are good for us, some are not, but in the end WE CHOSE and should be responsible for OUR CHOICES. I know bad things happen to good folks, but dang VICTIM is a title for one party involved in a single occurance not a flippin lifestyle. Suck it up drive on.

You are absolutely correct the people do have the power. Problem is they have forgotten how to use it to their advantage, gotten lazy, and it is easier to throw money at it rather than buck up and work. People as a whole are weak (physically and mentally), lazy, and irresponsible, and the ones that aren't see fit to prey on those that are. Maybe Darwin was right LOL.

i saw on the local news yesterday....poor pitiful me person, whining to the camera about being "afraid" to go out of there house. a bad dog was roaming the neighborhood, and they were scared. this is the type of person our govt. loves!! those that cant take care of themselves. this was not one persons opinion, it was the whole neighborhood "scared". these folks would probably shoot themselves if they owned a gun to protect themselves.
done..............

I have a big battle tonight at the gun club. They need money, so they want to raise the dues from $40 to $75. Right now I'm a director so I don't have to pay, but I wouldn't pay the $75 and I know my son won't be able to renew at that price. It's easier for them to almost double the dues than to come up with some creative ways to raise money.

I've shot a vicious dog too. I guess that puts me on the side of those who'd rather fight than give up my freedom and self respect.

Thumbs up

There's gotta be other ways to raise the money. Heck try a poker run and let people in cars take part too (the gun club patrons that don't own bikes). There are many ways to do this...

Sounds like your club took lessons from the government.......When you spend more than you have..raise taxes . There are many ways to raise money in a gun club. I've never seen a problem having competitive shoots and the club spitting the pot with the winner. Raffle off a shotgun. Most shooters would pay $50 bucks for the chance to win a nice gun. Sounds like the club officers are trying to take the easy way out. Like has been said above...most folks had rather throw money at a problem or have the government solve it for them than take responsibility for their own destiny. Rant over.

ok you put me on my soap box, in wyo they call them title 19 folks, they sit back on welfare and say poor me, and us hard working folks feed their family and build their houses, and even supply the hot tubs and cars, jus a perscription or directive is all they need. then the ones that work (dang hard ) for the almighty dollar, in debt up to their asses, trying to live the american dream, just to have some rich, ass good for nothing selfabsobent, pollitical guru collect more dues or tax, cause they have never had to find the money to do this themselves. the goverment is becoming more of a joke every day all the way down to the local level, and we all stand back and bittch, of course as of right now we still have the right to do so, but what needs to be done is the american people need to start standing up and saying enough is enough, start back handing all the people that are just sturren the pot because they can, just like the school that students cannot wear any flags on thier clothing, not even an american flag, that is just wrong.. punishing people for thier religion , thats wrong. this country is going to hello in a handbasket, and the average joe is to blame, maybe a write in on the ballet will put the movie stars, and clintons away, but this cannot happen people are a bunch of wimps any more, and when these wimps snap you have a shooting, also the friggin media needs some morales again that could help some, tack on some governmental morals there is another gain, and another possabilaty is citizen morals and pride instilled as a youngster possably some gain there, see i'm starting to ramble on the point is people need to get of their assis quit whinning, work hard have pride in thier family, friends and country, recoup thier morals, and by all means take the pride and respect the country that give you all this and if not get the f out!!!!

Well victory at the gun club. One of the rich doctors tried to blindside me, and it looked like me against the world at first. Another doc was chiming in and trying to ridicule me. Things weren't going all that well and then the Harley-riding state trooper spoke up and got on my side. Then the ex (who's been a member for 25 years and who I dragged along because he agreed with me and is a wicked stong-willed SOB) said his bit and neither of those doctors would stand up to him (). So we changed it to a gradual increase over the next couple of years, which is what I wanted.

"We the people" did it a couple hundred years back, when we kicked some British butt and sent them back across the ocean. I don't see why we can't do it again. "We the people" started this country, "We the people" can fix it. All we need is the heart , soul , and guts.

We tried it less than 200 years ago Leo, we TRIED it in 1860s. Some still feel that Lee didn't have the right to surrender the cause only his Virginia Army. Either way the rest laid down and we have been pinned under porch ever since. This is a very touchy subject for me.

This is what I understand least about it. I couldn't find a single person who would claim to have voted for Slick Willy Clinton, yet he was President. Now I hear so many people singing this song, and NOTHING is changing. I thought the squeaky wheel got the grease. Maybe we have loud pipes but mufflers on our LOL. I am sure OUR time will shine again.

Abby....sounds like the doctors had a plan to price the regular folks out of the club over the long run so they could have their "own" club.
Hmmm, kind of like how the government works.
