| I was out in the woods in my truck yesterday hunting for a few rocks for my yard. There is an area near me where the kids ride their minibikes and quads around and some of the older kids go and light fires and drink beer. While I was in there, I found five large acetylene gas cylinders someone dumped in the woods.
What kind of dink would do that? I would hate to see some stupid drunk kid toss these in a fire just to see what would happen. I know that's something we might have done as kids if we found them. I happen to do business with a gas company so I'm going to see if they can take them for scrap. It just pisses me off to see someone do this sort of thing. If you have enough brains to even use five acetylene tanks, then there is no reason you can't get rid of them. Most gas places take them back for nothing. IDIOTS!
Thanks for letting me vent. |

| That's probably what happened, the meth lab was done with them and decided to dump them instead of return them. Idiots! At least you're responsible enough to do something with them so nobody gets hurt. Thanks for possibly keeping somebody's kid safe.
I wonder if there's a meth laab close by to you?? |

| you can also take the number off the top of the cylinder and find out who the belong to through your local welding supply store. All those # are entered in to a nation wide data base. With a little leg work you may even be able to find the little tweekers who dumped them there.

| Well I went there with someone from our gas supplier. She said there would be little chance of finding who dumped them because of the age of them. The gas supply company that originally owned them has since been bought out. She is working with her safety department now to see if they can take them.
There was a small Acetylene tank there and a few oxygen as well. The small one was still full. If were in better shape, I would have considered using it on my torches but I decided against it since it was so rusty.
I suppose a Meth lab is within the realm of possibility but there really isn't anywhere nearby that would be well suited for that sort of thing, unless someone was doing it right in their garage or something.
I'll let you know what they decide to do with them. |

Sometimes, they will set up in barns or something if out in the country......many times I have read that if the lab had blown up, would have destroyed 5-10 other homes.......make sure that lab isn't next door! |

As a local VOL Firefighter/EMTI I have washed down several labs in our area gotta look for ether cans pill tabs and the smell of ammonia tweekers aren't noted for there house keeping, colman fuel cans are also in the mix.Normally old propane bottles are used to store the anhydrous, because the adapters are readily available at any local hardware store. |

| These are pretty large and expensive sized tanks, about four feet tall with the exception of the full one which was maybe two feet. They look more like a contractor working in the industrial park might have dumped them but who knows for sure? Maybe some meth heads stole them from some place and then realized they couldn't use them for some reason or another.
As far as the meth lab being next door, I know my immediate neighbors pretty well. I really hope the nice little blonde next door that used to teach Sunday school didn't decide to take the path of evil! That would ruin all y shower fanta..........oh never mind! |

| Easy easy we would hate to ruin her integrity any way, yea aaa sorry still in next door frame of mind. they probably stole them thinking they could get them filled no welding supply store cant fill someone else's bottles $10,000.00 fine if they catch them. You have to have a legal bill of sale if the bottles belong to you or take them back to where you rented them from to get filled. We found two folks dead in a field a couple of years ago lab gone bad it was pretty nasty they was all swole up coroner said they died of as fixation from the anhydrous. They will use just about anything, these idiots were using milk jugs
AA is liquid -237 below Zero milk jugs didn't hold. Two less dopers

| Like the rest of the guys said here, labs can be set up pratically anywhere, including mobile labs in the trunk of a car, and everything else in between! As for the anhydrous ammonia, take a look at the valve and stem on tank... anhydous tends to cause a "bluing" to the valve & stem, which is caused by the tank not being designed to hold anhydrous. If you see the blue-colour on the valve, BE VERY CAREFUL! Most likely you are dealing with an item used at a lab, which means that it is potentially explosive, contains contaminants like extreme acids or bases, or may have remnants of phosphene gas from off-gasing while cooking the meth. ALL BAD SH*T! |

| There was a person who got arrested for a meth lab in an apartment complex. The cops shut her down, she posted bond and a couple of days later was popped again for another meth lab in another apartment complex in a more afluent neighborhood in Charlotte. Crazy.... Crazy!!! |

| The problem is the addiction rate with these drugs. Meth has an extremely high addiction percentage... after the first use, the addition rate is over 80%... after two uses, the addition rate jumps to over 90%. Brutal. And the worst part is that the users tolerance for the drug increases, which causes the addict to want (or NEED) more and more, just to achieve a high that was somewhat similar to the last... the highs, though, get lower and lower.
THE POINT? DON'T DO IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. PERIOD. |

| With all the money our government spends on trying to patch the problem...Why don't they just buy an island out in the bahamas (you can actually get a big one for 10 or 20 mil) and if you wanna do smack, crack, meth, crank, or any other really bad sh*t (leave the weed here ) then go to the island. Do anything you want there. In a year, enough labs going up and OD's, there will be no one left on the island. Then, we can use it for the people that mess with kids |
