| Not a CC guy myself, but know some of you are. Here is some good news if ya visit the Silver State:
NEVADA: New Right-to-Carry Reform Law Goes into Effect! On Monday, October 1, Senate Bill 237 went into effect. SB 237 will permit out of state permit holders to carry firearms for self-defense in Nevada if their state permit standards are substantially similar to Nevada's and the issuing state has a 24-hour accessible database. The Department of Public Safety has issued a statement announcing that permits from Alaska, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, Tennessee, and Utah will be recognized. For more information on Nevada's recognition process, please visit Nevada Department of Public Safety - Records and Technology Division.
Just know that there are still places that a CCW licensee still can't bring a weapon legally. |

| I ain't a big fan of CC either. If not placed correctly it digs and tugs. The way it should be is strapped to your hip where it belongs
No joke it makes me happy to see how many States are getting on board for a universal CCW thing. State law in WV allows anyone legally able to own a handgun to carry it in the open. However, several cities including my own dear ol Charleston have passed ordinances against open carry inside their limits. |

| Yeah, we have open carry everywhere but the cities anyway, so not a big deal. That and "concealed" is a whole lot more lenient here than in the Democratic People's Socialist Republic of California next door. |

That said one of these days I'll go get my CC permit. |

| Concealed carry permits ought to be recognized in every state just like driver's license but that won't happen anytime soon. We really shouldn't have to have a "permit". It's a right not a privilege but I won't start that rant. |

| Yea well....Illinois is not a CC State. & Chicago.....dont get me started. Guns for the average law abiding citizen here have been illegal since 1982. See they made everyone before then "register" their guns. If you had one before then you were grandfathered. But you couldnt own any new ones....had to be the ones "registered" If you moved out, & back in...too bad, so sad. Thats why I live in the burbs. Solidly republican & pro 2nd amendment. In the Democrat controlled city of Chicago there are only 2 people who can own guns & not have to worry: the coppers, & the gang bangers. But If you ever ask Mayor Daley, he'll tell ya, it makes it a safer city.....BS |

| I came to Texas a couple of years ago and went to my first gun show. I was admiring a nice pistol and being a native from the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia I asked how long the wait would be? He looked at me funny and said "about 15 minutes " Thats when I new I had come to the real
United States 3 monts later I qualified for my CCL. I carry my pistol every where its legal. I do a bit of traveling to Nevada I hope Texas can come to some agreement with them on honoring each others permits.

| Well I checked my CC this morning and oops looks like I forgot to renew it. The county does not send a reminder notice out. If I want to renew it I have to go to all those stupid safety glasses in the evenings again. Take the test and have the background check again and then pay the fee again. I think I'll pass and just keep it where it is. |

Lol..........we don't tend to get that too much, but trust me the gangs in most of the major cities can get their hands on them if they want to! |

| Getting my permit in Nevada wasn't too difficult..just have a clean record., e.g. no felonies, and take the course.
California was a different beast all together. It's done by county, so you know there's gonna be some disparity. Sacramento county is fairly heavy Democrat (very difficult to get a permit), while the county I used to be in, Placer (just up I80 NE of Sacramento) is staunchly Republican. Needless to say, it wasn't too difficult getting a permit living in Placer county. You did have to go and be interviewed personally by the Sheriff. He had me demonstrate a quick breakdown of the pistol, and show how to put it on safety (which a Glock doesn't really have..little inner trigger on the trigger). Also, he asked one question.."what is your main purpose for the permit?" My answer was I looked watch when my brother's band was breaking down their equipment at 3am into their trucks outside. Sheriff said "no problem".
Question..you can't legally have more than one driver's license in the US. Can you have more than one concealed permit? Considering not all states honor other states licenses. |
