| For My Democrat Friends:
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.
I also wish you a financially successful , personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere, and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preferences of the wishes.
By accepting these greetings you are accepting these terms. This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for herself or himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher.
This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of the good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.
For My Republican Friends:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
OK, I just stole this from an e-mail I received. |

| God rest you merry, bikers,
Let nothing you dismay,
For united bikers everywhere, is our power,
Has brought us all together upon this day
To save us all from Washington's power
When they have gone astray.
Refrain:
O bikers of all brands feel comfort and joy,
comfort and joy;
O bikers of all brands feel comfort and joy!
And Let the bikers everywhere unit as one. Merry Christmas To All Bikers |

| Slimjim- Half my family are Democrats, and some of my friends, too - expecially the drugged-out ones that always need a hand up. On my family side, they say they aren't gonna switch teams, and compare it to their support of our mutual love of sports teams that we've shared through the decades- like our governance is a sport? Frickin' clueless. Dems used to be different, but John Kennedy would spin over in his grave at the way his party wants to buy votes, control our lives and soothe dictators today. Not to mention their support of enemy combatants. Kennedy wanted to asassinate Castro, not get pictures with him or the head of Syria. But since REAL history isn't taught today, most won't ever know that. So sad. Just thinking about this sorry state I need another drink.........and I ain't talking H2O.... |

| It's kind of strange but I don't know many democrats or maybe they won't admit to it. It may be that I'm so adamant in my criticism of their policies, they just stay quiet. I didn't even vote for a home boy, Jimmy Carter . What a joke he was and is. He's probably a pretty nice guy personally but his politics stink. You're right, you shouldn't let politics interfere with the peace of the family. I just hope we can all agree that it just can't be Hillary . |

| As an Independent, I don't see anyone on either side Dem or Rep that I feel has the character to be president of the US, its like getting to choose between the bloods and the crips. AL |

Ultra Al - OK, I didn't want to stray too far from the original meaning of the thread, but I think ya gotta take a thorough look at the candidates. I mean, if ya think that Mrs. Clinton or Mr. Obama can be even considered viable, given their total lack of experience - leaving character or policies aside (not that they'd tell ya what they are), vs. almost anyone on the Repub side, I can't believe you've taken a real look. My problem with the Republicans is I can't pick any who would be a bad President compared to the Dems. But so I don't stray further, all I'll say now is that giving up on making a choice is what the press wants you to do. They want you to believe your vote doesn't count. Vote anyway, and screw them!
I was a military absentee Florida voter when Al Gore didn't want my vote to count, so I know that every vote does matter. They are not all alike - that is the most important thing I learned from my visits with Congressmen when I was an officer in the Navy. The press wants you to think you don't matter unless you go postal or something - we all matter, it is our duty and responsibility to remember that. Blow that off, and you'll suffer the consequences. There is a difference. Far greater than you may want to admit, maybe. Figure it out and vote accordingly. |

| Me, I still like Old John McCain I think that guy has got what it takes and the back ground to make a good President. His problem was in agreeing with Bush who has become very unpopular. I still like the way Bush has stood up to the rest of the world. What I do disagree on is if we are going to start a war for gods sake do it right to start with and finish it. We have to many bleeding hearts in this country and there are always going to be a group no matter what a President does that will disagree with him or her (please lord not Hillery).
Then there is Huckleberry who seems like a really all around nice guy but if the nukes start flying towards us is he going to have to kneel and pray for an answer from above before he does anything.
That may be in some minds not a good attribute but that is one thing I like about Bush and that is he makes a decision and does it.
I know that there may be some here that do not like Bush but can you imagine the alternative if Gore won and 911 happened. I personally don't even want to think about what would have happened had he been in office.
I would vote for the right candidate no matter what they were, demo, republican or something else but I have to agree the Demo's have got what, nothing really to offer. |

It's all about making decisions based on principle and not what the next opinion poll might say. I don't agree with everything Bush has done but when it comes to military action, he has done it for the right reasons IMO. |
