| No big deal. I was pissed at the time, but one quick ride on my baby and I really don't give a rat's ass about him anymore. I'm sure he got an earful from a couple of people there.
I wrote a long letter to the owner about how great the service writer and the mechanic have been. I didn't even mention the jerk. I told the owner that as much as I like the looks I get, it's also really frustrating when I try to tell someone what I want done to my bike and they don't listen to a word I say because they think I don't have a clue. The service writer has listened to me and read my e-mails more closely than anyone I've ever communicated with. It's really been remarkable. The good treatment I've received there has far outweighed the bad. I'll get that jerk back some day.
And I'm heading down tomorrow to set up a storage place for the bike until I can bring it up to the mountains. It's at a friend's house right now, but I don't like having to depend on them to be there. With the storage place I can pick it up and drop if off anytime. Plus I can keep all my spare parts and some other stuff there. Anyway, if it's a nice day, I'll probably ride it back up to the dealership to get that VIN identification form I need to register the bike. Everything expires in March on my birthday, and unfortunately that's coming up really soon. |

I know that people have spent a lot more money there than I have simply by buying a new bike. But I also know that dealerships count on customers to return for service to make some bucks too. It's not good to piss off a service customer. | Welcome to what a lot of us have dealt with for decades. And as long as people inhabit this earth there will always just be two types: Good guys and *******s. Allways have been always will be. You deal with them as you did, talk to thier supervisors and smile. Because letting some idiot cast a damper on your day gives them the power they so obviously lack in thier miserable existance. There used to be (Key Word USED) a Dealer in Memphis,Tn named Tommy Taylor. This was back in the late 60's early 70's.If you weren't a cop, shriner, or the like he acted like he was doing you a favor to sell you something. If ya rode a chopper, he wouldn't let you park on his lot, or sell you parts. Boswells HD in Nashville on the other hand, would give us a discount because we were over a hundred miles away. Guess who got the money? And guess who closed thier doors? With the way things are today, no dealer can afford to treat ANY of thier customers badly. (I mean, getting raped with HD prices is enough, good business says they gotta kiss ya, <smile>)
I would give you two pieces of advise for the future: A) Never let anything like that slide. Go see the owner/manager right then. B) Keep smiling and BE NICE. The nicer you are, the more like a jackass the offending party seems.
Ride Free.......
