Not me!
OK, I read it and am still no fan. I have a poney-tail and ride a loud bike. I didn't do Rolling Thunder, but I did ride ships, Hueys, Sikorskys, LCACs, LAVs, P-3s, HMMMVees, (not H2 or H3s, though), C-130s, C-141s, KC-135s and some scary Jeepneys (among many vehicles in the service of this GREAT country).
Thanks, GK - I'm just about over that Constitutional oath that I so "naively" swore to - I am just about ready to gut you with my USA-issued CRKT in spite of your Constitutional right - a right I defended for REAL while you made up **** to make yourself a liberal icon - to say this crap.
I really should not have read the article........

No disrespect to you Red and I mean absolutely none, but I got to ask this and you set it up for me.
WHY THE F**K do you that took the oath to defend The Constitiution of the United States of America "always" feel you are letting down that oath when you turn your anger of duty toward enemies domestic?
By the time I turned 18 I had met enough Veterans (mostly Viet Nam Vets) and seen how they had been turned into hollow shadows of the person they may have been if not subjected to that "Police Action". I seen how they had to fight for everything (if anything) they got from the VA. It seemed the more combat they seen (which usually meant the less they talked about it) the harder it was for them to get help. That was enough for me to ask myself, "If they treat combat Veterans in this manner (especially the ones they drug out of their life and sent) then what makes me think they would treat my fatass any better later?" Therefore I listened to my father's words pertaining to me and the military "STAY OUT". My dad served in the Army Signal Corp, and absolutely LOVED his time in the service. He also told me that getting out was one of the saddest days of his life, but with today's political leaders it just wasn't worth it. One of the few times at that age that I actually listened to my Dad (honestly I think that was about the turning point of me realizing he wasn't nearly as stupid as he had been over the last 5 or 6 years). I chose to learn all I could about the Founding Fathers' vision, and try to teach as many people as I can how far off America is today.
I respect the men and women who do raise their hand and take that same oath as you Red, more than most folks will ever know. I took the same oath when I became employed with the Post Office (atleast the protect and defend which I never understood in the USPS WTF they get real pissy if you carry a gun there ). So when *******s like this jerk spew this garbage, don't feel you are letting down your oath, or that you were naive in taking it. Honor it proudly and do your sworn duty and protect The Constitution by exercising your rights to free speech and tell this POS to FOAD and stop poluting our way of life. Only through folks like yourself, that have been there and done that, standing up to this type of un-American trash can we open the eyes of others.
BTW THANKS for taking that oath and giving of yourself, tis a great gift. Don't let these bastards get you down.

BTW...good to see someone else from Minnesota here . When this forum was still a part of the directparts web site, I often lamented about how I was the only member in this area, while the many guys from the southwest were getting together for group rides.

Hey Seahag how you been?
IMNSHO I think every swinging dick should have mandatory service for two years and reserve duty for another two years. Then, you wanna whine, bitch, moan and groan? You've earned the right to do so. Otherwise keep you opinions to yourself and thank those that have given you a free ride on the freedom wagon.
Now THAT would piss off the liberals.

I agree with you CD!!! We would have less problems with punk asses running the streets and increasing crime. Maybe they will learn some respect and manners (things I am sure my Dad tried to teach me, but I wasn't ready... The military sure did though)!!!

I'll agree to that CD..bring back the draft. If you don't like it, go live in another country. Unfortunately, there's too many in this country who can't handle a little discipline in their life. It is a good way to get your life in order though, and earn an education.
I'm glad a read a few posts after the first..so I didn't read the bleeding-heart liberal attitude. Don't really like the far-right attitude much either..too religious for me. Reading both of their diatribes is a waste of time and ain't worth getting upset about.

I opened it up read a couple lines and said screw it don't need it. Like CD the draft would be great and those that can't handle discipline would learn and it would be the best thing that ever happened to them and to this country. I to took an oath and I still believe that way. JMOHO

If we would go back to the system we had when I was younger. If you where in trouble with the law for minor law breaking you had a choice of a jail cell or nelist in the army. A lot of guys I knew going into the army was a life saver. Instead of going to jail and learning how to be better criminal they went in the army and came out a better man.
