Greetings all,

I can't help but notice that since Barcode Oblama won the democratic party nomination, that the press is all over him, showering him with all their affections. I am not a big fan of McCain, by any means, but every time I open a paper, turn on the boob tube, or even get to my homepage, there is always a good story of the idiot, and nothing on McCain.

The press should at least try and be fair. At least they should go through with the attempt. Let us see, if I was hiring an executive, should I pick the one that has little experience, a middle manager with only a few years, or someone who has been serving the public for all his adult life.

Look at the resumes of the candidates. What is a community organizer anyway? Were some of the cult leaders over the years considered community organizers? A few years in the Illinois senate, so what, and 2 years in the US senate, which makes him a junior player at best. As far as being for the little guy, he makes 5 times more than the Republican candidate, who is after all, only for the Big Corporations and the rich.

Maybe you support him or maybe you don't, but the press should try to be impartial. I am sick of the bunch of nitwits calling themselves journalists trying to be 'the power behind the throne'. The stories act like the election is over, and all that is left is the inauguration.

Keep an open mind, don't be fooled by the press!

You nailed it. Not a McCain fan either, but it is insane that the balance of coverage is what it is.

Frankly, with the exceptions of (R) Mitt Romney and (D) Bill Richardson, none of the circus clowns that ran this year should be able to get near the White House without a visitors pass. Odds are we'll be throwing whomever wins out in four years - if not sooner!

I learned my lesson about the press many years ago, when a reporter for the major newspaper in the area came to a meeting several of us had discussing Constitutional issues. Not just opinions either - the law as it is written & U.S. Supreme Court rulings on it. The reporter asked could he quote me & like an idiot I said yes. I read the article printed the next day - did I say those words? Yes. But in that order or context? No. He twisted everything around to make it seem like I was backing up his opinion, which was most assuredly socialist & anti-constitutional.

I've been on "talk radio" too, with the State's "Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR - every State has one) in front of me. Can't even talk about it. Why? Because it shows that the financial news you get in the newspapers, on radio & TV is a bare-faced lie. For example, while North Carolina continues to cry about not having enough $$$ to finish highway projects which are years behind schedule, the $$$ is already there in interest-bearing accounts. The State could stop collecting taxes of any kind for 3 years & finish all the projects with Dept. of Transportation funds it already has. I took the 207-page CAFR document I got from the State to a CPA & he verified that.

The federal Gov't. has a CAFR too & it does not look anything like what you see reported in the "news" media. I've been doing research on these issues for going on 17 years & one thing you'll find while going thru the list of who has a stake in the Federal Reserve, which is neither federal nor a reserve - not a Gov't. agency & never has been - is companies like Jefferson Pilot Communications & Lincoln Financial Group - owners of newspapers, radio & TV stations. You read what they want you to read, see & hear what they want you to see & hear & it's not even close to the truth. Am I saying that the same people who run the monetary/banking system also control much of the "news" media? Yes - and if you'll do the research, you'll see that too.

The upcoming election is just another "dog & pony show" & it really doesn't matter who wins, as the behind-the-scenes "handlers" tell the candidates what to do & what to say. Whatever the handlers think will get the most votes & how the media "spins" what the candidates say is what you're going to hear. But if you do some research, you'll find it's all total BS. I've known some people (including some family) involved in politics, from a big-city Mayor to the U.S. Senate & behind-the-scenes "handlers" too - it's a very ugly game they have to play. And those who were honest & straightforward got slam-dunked in the media.

I should have known better than to grant the interview with the newspaper reporter & to try to make a point of fact on talk radio, but you can bet I won't makes those mistakes again. I learned that in this life, "Perception IS Reality" & the "news" media is all about perception. Facts scare "news" people to death, but if you dig deep enough you'll uncover them.

Been there heard that sewed thier butts and learned something. When I read a "quote" I usually take it with a box of salt Did the person actually say those words? Sure. Were they said in anything like the way the reporter put them together? Well there is the rub. They could take all the posts that any of us here have written, take a dozen or so sentences out of context and make us appear to "say" just about anything.
As to bias in the press...well between that and all the "news personalities" I don't bother reading the crap. Plenty of places to get a balanced view on this here computer.

That is the language international business is done in. A vote for anybody is vote against that idiot. Hope I didn't bogart the thread.
