I watched her speech last night and was very impressed we talked about it at work today and even some die hard democrats are impressed with her, plus she is a lifetime NRA member, what more could we ask for. The journalists can give her as much crap as they want, she can take it and dish out even more, Todd

She's got a lot going for her. I got a soft spot for hockey moms and anyone solid enough to be living up north. We got the Yukon ,Nunavut and the North West Territories, you guys got Alaska..and Minnesota.... She seems like a no bull**** kind of gal...she'd have my vote but that's your election not mine.

That Palin was on a roll. I was very impressed. I often wonder why do some big money Hollywooders kiss up to the Demos? Do they think they are like us in the real world? Some of them make millions a movie and got nothing in common with midle America but don't like Repubs because? What is the actors angle on that? kinda off subject sorry...but Clooney having a party for OBAMa at 10,000 dollars a plate? Come on...What does Clooney and those like him have in common with a little man Demo? just curious. But the demos have not demos in years, so Mcain and Palin.

Politics is not always what it seems or plays out to be. The dems are supposedly for the little guy, but why do they have more money to throw around? They are supposedly the party that helps the minorities, but why was the first black secretary of state under a republican? Why is the first black female secretary of state under a republican?
The elite left has control of the democratic party, and they and their pals in journalism think that they have all the answers, and will stop at nothing to take control. It is like in Animal Farm, all animals are equal, some are more equal than others.

She is very impressive and speaks well. I like the fact that she can talk the talk and is an NRA member.
I don't think the abortion issue should be politicized so I won't speak on that but I do believe in stem cell research so I definitively disagree with her on that.
And do we really need another Evangelical Christian in politics? You got to be kidding me I call myself a Christian, but I could never take the bible that literally.
Where's the change we need?

I get a bit leery of the religion in politics stuff too, but Obama's plans scare me more. His plan to raise taxes on the wealthy (and anyone who has a job is wealthy) would mean less investment, and his plan to raise taxes on corporations would make US corporations less competitive against the foreign companies, which pay little or no taxes in the US. More tax and spend policies, dressed up as 'change'.
Unfortunately, the 'social' issues such as abortion, etc. are used as a smokescreen to mask the fact that neither party want to tackle the real important things, like bringing the budget under control, health care cost, and the things government should be doing.
Even the slogan, 'Change we can believe in' is ambiguous at best. Is that in opposition to change we don't want to believe in? Does change not happen if we close our eyes and not believe, like the boogie man under the bed? This campaign has been big on rhetoric, but quite short on substance for both candidates.

Loved her speech, especially "what's the difference between a hockey mom and a pitbull..lipstick!"..had me crackin up. The abortion issue is my only concern with her, but she won't be picking a Supreme Ct Justice. That's an issue that should be left out of politics and up to the states any way. Biden's gonna have his hands full on Oct 2nd in what I think is their only debate head on.
Go get em Sarah Barracuda!

Yeah, after listening to Obama and Biden (should've stayed bald) say nothing but rhetoric it was refreshinng to hear her sound like business. McCain knows all there is to know about the hill, military and diplomacy (big stick) and she is coming from the outside with a don't mess with me attitude. Old school may be popular but I am going with the old man and the hockey mom on this one.
So much for McCain not "getting" it. He pretty much summed up Obama's experience in one sentence....
Seems he's got that down pretty well.

Obamba boy sure screwed up today when he said "A pig with lipstick is still a pig". Hmmm a little biased. I still think he's a racist.

Well being from the Chicago area I know exactly what Obama has done here...which is nothing...So personally I've never seen the reason for all the interest behind him. I've been for McCain since the begining mostly because I know he's a straight shooter & he has the country's best interest at heart I mean the guys been serving this country longer than Obama has been alive....thats gotta count for SOMETHING !!

I kind of wondered about that myself. Is it his charisma or his ability to speak to a crowd? Is it an inate ability to lead like the pied piper? I watched a review of his record in the senate and he seems to vote with the flow. Like Iraq, for and then against depending on what the mood of the country is.
I really, really tried to stay neutral on this one but he just doesn't seem to understand the world and glosses over large issues like Georgia, North Korea and that pesky Iran thing. He has plans for the economy but as one reporter said, there is a plan but where's the beef?
In the end, I know who to vote for. It ain't Obama or Biden for one, I don't think Obama "gets it" and I cannot stand Biden's smart ass pandering attitude.
I also hoped that for once we could keep an election above the sewer level. You know, talk about the issues, discuss what you are going to do (not just rhetoric) to fix the issues. But we are already being flushed down the toilet and once again heading for the sewer. In the end we'll end up knowing what brand Tampax Palin uses and what size depends Biden wears and who his hair implant team was. Like it really, really matters

The news media today was smearing Palins religion today, they made it really sound like she is a nut.
An interview with Obamba they asked him what past presidents he looked up to and he either couldn't answer them or didn't want to so they asked him again about Kennedy or Lincoln and he tried changing the subject and going back to this we need change. I find him very disrespectful on many subjects. The same guys interviewed John McCain with the same questions and he answered them showing comparisons with many past presidents.
The part that scares me is most of the younger people today seem to in favor of Obamba and they can't really tell you why except to say he is against Bush.
John McCain may not be the charismatic speaker as is Obamba but when he speaks there is substance in what he says.

I don't like any of them. I don't believe Sarah Palin could step up any time soon and be president which could be a real possibility based upon McCain's age. She would be eaten alive in Washington. Plus she is really stretching her accomplishments in Alaska and the bridge to no where story and her pork barrel lobbying. I can not stand the thoughts of another Bush term which is what we get with "McChange". I could maybe vote for McChange if he would admit that we can never change the fanaticals in Iraq or anywhere else in the middle east. We need to protect our own here in the US.
