Don't know about Italy, but I know Germany has HD shops that are also Authorized Rental shops. Cost was about 150E per day if I remember right.....good luck!

Looks like Rome is the easiest city to get to--to rent a Harley. Go to the H-D website and choose Italy as your country, then look for Italian dealers. You have to select "Englese Americano" to view in english. Then find/click the icon that represents Dealership Rentals and it will show you the three or four in Northern Italy that rent Harley's.
I personally enjoyed the Naples riding. Nothing like being able to split lanes, weave in/out/around/between traffic, ride down the shoulders too. You have the Amalfi Coast an hour away, that is the finest that I have seen. It's ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Do a search of the Amalfi Coast and you'll see. Wish I were going. You know what they say, when in Naples, do as the Neopolitans do! Or something to that affect.
Spring of 04' I rode with some other HOG members to the HOG Ralley in the Abruzzi Mountains. When we left Naples, it was sunny and about 60. Arrived at the mountains and it was cold, cloudy, rainy, sleeting and snowing. Thank God it didn't stick to the ground. Had a blast! The Italians know how to have a good time. Dave
