Temps were in the hi 70's we took a ride to Big lake about 190 mi round trip. Not much for scenery but nice smooth roads, no traffic and didn't see a single cop. Stopped for a drink and met up with a guy and his lady riding a Big Dog. It looked real cool but I was glad to be on my Road King. AL

It was a great day for a ride! Not quite 70 down on the range, but at least 60. I actually was a little too warm at one point. I rode with some guys I met on my trip. I met them at a campground, so I hadn't ridden with them before. Great guys, but too fast for my taste. Of course the bike had no problem keeping up, but lots of sharp curves that I wasn't familiar with and lots of sand. I'd like to go back and ride the area again at about half the speed.

For the first time on a month or so , I threw my leg over the saddle , & lifted it off the K stand was A bit tough , so I just sat there dreaming about it after about 4-5 min I sat it back down & had to get off , before my pig headed self would have tried to ride , Maybe next weekend , I can dream anyway , temps were about mid 70's

Are you talkin about Big Lake Creek on Lake Somerville ?
Rode up 59 to lufkin and went on to nacohoches to Timpson at Hiway 84 to Jaquin.
Man please ! What a small world Chucktx was on one end of Hiway 84 and I was on the other end near lousiana.
Started out and it was 39* at 10:00am the farther north we went the colder it got.
Got a friend up there that has a chicken farm I met on another forum a couple years ago. It was really warmin up on the ride home till the sun went down.
On the way back we came down Hiway 7 around center to Hiway 96 down to Hwy 255 across rayburn dam to Hiway 63 to Hiway 190 across Dam B and on to livingston. After 5:00 pm the sun was tough headed due east. Rode 300 miles for the day.

Cowboy yep a Road King Police I added some mods too,I also have some pinstripes on the back and I still want to do some more as soon as I get what I want worked out. I made the inserts in the saddle bag spaces out of a piece of 3/8" aluminum from the scrap yard. Polished the dog out of it and put on the Road King insignias. The plastic hockey puck tops are covered with some gas cap covers I found. Lets see, also took off the air shocks, they tended to waller on me in the curves. I replaced them with progressive 440's, much better and also lowered the bike a little. The pipes are Cycle Shack rocket tips. When the factory paint gets more wear on it i will paint it but i havent decided on the color yet. It will be two tone candy with the top part marblized. I have done a test tank in candy brandywine and apple red. I want to try some two tone candy blue next, decisions, decisions. The fact that she is a Police Special inspired her name, Miss Piggy. I got a smokin deal on it from Thunder Mountain, then in Ft. Collins, Co. It only had 2020 miles on it and the maintanance was done by the dealer. The cop in charge of the motor patrol was a HOG member and I got to talk to him about the bike before I bought it. 14,600 out the door and they threw in a T shirt, service manuel and 20% discount on accessories good for 30 days. Im real happy with it. Well enough rambling. Hope your healing up. AL

i got a good deal as well it had about 20k On it but was used for excoret service , & was serviced ever 2500 hundred miles at the dealer I got it from I have tried three diferent set of mufflers & have a set of samsons fish tails out in the garage wateing to try right noe she has the V&H true dules & SE hollowed out muff's & Big city Baffles , real good sound ,, I just can't seem to get used to the round look's of the muff's
I'am still trying to decide on what tank elblums to put on & being the EG ,I went with a aftermarket Tour pack for now , I just picked up a back rest/ sissy bar & pad , just need to docking set up , I'll try to figure out how to post some pic's later
