Decided to install the daymaker spots today. Took one off and found it had the earlier style lamp in it. My bike is an '05 FLHTC and the daymaker spot is supposed to be plug n pray..er ah....plug n play I mean. The daymaker headlight plugged right into the existing wire harness no problem.

When I had the front fairing open to change speakers I saw a sticker dated OCT '04. Was this some kind of build sticker? I'm wondering if I got an early production '05 that has some '04 parts on it, and if so what else could be different between '04 and '05? :banghead:

HLR do you know if you have the early style spots or the later style spots or have you found any parts to be different from '05 and later?

my 05 is a Fatboy, no spots, sorry can't help you there,
If I was guessing I'd say by an October build date they would have all the latest stuff on your bike.

Harley has used the same parts for many years on many of their bikes. I put a set of spots one time on a Softail bike and all the years were the same part number. Your bike was built in the fall which means its the new bike for the next year. Harley has always started the next model year in August or September. Lot of times you can go to Sturgis in August and test ride the next model year. They don't go from Jan to Jan but from either August or September to the same the next year. Don't mean you can't buy a previous model year as late as November just means they had some previous model year bikes left over.

Damn dealer wanted $30 for a pair of adapters and I would have to wait for them. Went and got some small spade terminals and some heat shrink. Had to go to 3 different places to find solder type terminals. Twenty minutes later my spots are installed and working total cost $5.90
