The finger lakes region new york...upstate that is,rolling rivers and waterfalls. Base camping out of Rock Stream,NY. Day to get there, day to look around and a day to get home.

Beautiful area....Rode along both Cayuga and Seneca lakes...If you get up to Sodus Point there is a great bar/restaurant...Don't remember the name but it was the only place there...My guess is you will come across on 90?

Captain Jacks has an open top floor looking at the bay, good food. The gorge at Watkins Glen is quite a sight, long walk up and down. Keep your eyes open for deer. I live about 4 miles from Geneva Harley, Tim the service manager is great , if I can help you in any way send me an e-mail Bob

I think it was Captain Jack's because we sat in the open top floor...

Made it! Left at 8:30am got in at 3:30pm. Traffic sucked especially in the bigger towns like albany, troy, binghampton and believe it or not the 4-5 blocks of Watkins glens sucked too?

Pictures are view from hotel in rock stream, 3 bottles of wine from the pompous ass winery and me.

The room has a jacuzzi in it, boy was that great after a long day in the saddle. 361 miles. Seemed like more. Only on interstates alittle. I-88 in NY for 80 or so miles and I-91 in Vermont for 20 miles, the rest was cutting in west on state rts. Probably getting to old for this shit, lol.

Can't say enough about bambidees hospitality. If ever anyone gets a chance to hit up the finger lake region its motorcycle friendly and it helps having one of our own up there.

The ride home was the best. For some reason on the way down the gps brought me to the end of I-88 into Binghamton, catching rt 17 all the way to watkins glen. Binghampton was 4 lans of construction and traffic instead of exiting 1/2 down to ny st rt 206.

On the way home right out of watkns glen i think we went rt 13 to rt 79 to rt 206 and onto 1/2 up I-88.

The gps saved my ass in Ithaca guiding us thru the very bowels of the outter neighborhoods and onto rt 79 and evetually 206 to I-88 in Bainbridge,ny. Once on I88 no traffic and 80-90mph to Albany.

When the wife drags me away for a week or two, the last few days I'm pulling out my hair to get back to work, makes me feel like a slave to the grind.
Nothing like a good poo on your own comfy toilet and shower in your own tub either. Ahh, the pleasures of home...
