That is weird, but cool. We were supposed to be with HOG for this rife but they chickened out. As of right now, we are in Spooner WI.

I have been close to the UP, about 5 miles away. Great riding in that general area.

Ok our trip has concluded. Our basic rout was that we headed east on MN Hwy 7 to I494 to I 90 to WI 35 heading north on that. Nothing too fabulous here other than crossing the Mississippi and the St Croix river. Overall going up there was Mediocre. Nothing special other than being with my dad and wife. We got into Ashland and I had one little issue with my GPS, but we got to where we needed to be which was our hotel.

Rain was expected but it held off until we were checking in. While it was raining we got settled into our rooms. Hete is a look at the rooms. uploadfromtaptalk1411382198369.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1411382206978.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1411382216831.jpg These rooms were really clean and very nice. Kind of reminded us of log cottage in the city. And for $100 a night, way way worth it.

Once we got settled into our rooms, we sat outside for a bit had a drink. At this time I decided I was going to reset my highway pegs because my dad brought a tool kit.

From here we decided we were hungry and went to a place within walking distance. The place also was a microbrewery called South Shore Brewing CO. This place also hosted two restaurants completely different from each other.

Here is a view as we were walking up. uploadfromtaptalk1411644511145.jpg Next here is a shot of the restaurants from the window. uploadfromtaptalk1411644580901.jpg A picture of the brewing vats. uploadfromtaptalk1411644618717.jpg Just a neat picture of a ships sterring wheel. uploadfromtaptalk1411644676545.jpg

We chose to eat at the Deep Water which was an upper scale place. Very nice, GREAT FOOD, but the beer samplers were phenomenal. I found one that I really enjoyed and ordered one with my meal.

After our meal we decided to bring a growler home of an agreed up flavor. Here is a pic of us enjoying that flavor outside of the room. uploadfromtaptalk1411645218396.jpg

The beer wasn't super cold but not warm. The menu had a lot fish and seafood, some Italian and yes steak and a couple of bugers. Price? Not sure, dad picked up this check. And the beer were mainly darks with a couple of stouts.

We were up until midnight drinking and laughing. We spoke about many things, some serious, and some not.

The next morning we were actually out on the road at 0930 hours and we were heading north. We rode U.S. 13 north all the way to the Apostle islands and followed it all the way to Superior WI. That stretch was just over 100 miles.
