Our chapter rode to Hood River then up to Parkdale today for the annual Blossom Ride. Weather was superb for this time of year, sunny and 78F. This area is one of the largest Apple and Pear orchards in the Northwest. Picture of the group was from the Bonneval Dam rest area along the Columbia River. We crossed the river at the town of Hood River on a steel grated bridge. That's a really fun bridge as it feels like your riding on ice and is a good 3/4 mile across. The pic of the bike with the Apple Orchard is of one of the guys I rode up with. Will have even better pics to post when they get posted on the chapter website. One of the guys wives was taking some great pics from the back of their bike.

It was a lotta fun. We had 55 bikes plus 16 Road Captain bikes so it was a rather large group. We split it into 3 groups and worked perfect. We did one big group going over the bridge and the lead bike handed the gal at the toll both a big plastic ziplock bag full of quarters, 75 cents per bike. She didn't even count it just just said go.

Grated bridges are the bain of motorcycles. There's a big one you have to cross to get to Newport,RI and its nerve racking. Feels like the bike is waffling left and right continuously.
