Has anyone had or know anyone who has had a noisy compensator on a Rushmore engine. They come with a SE compensator stock. After 30k miles at idle sounds like it's gonna come apart. Baker says they have the answer but $$$$. Any advise is welcome. C46

I replaced the comp on my 11 CVO, used the HD SE unit and it worked
    well eliminated the noise.

Baker makes good stuff, it is expensive.

contact Phil at www.harleypartscheap.com if you need baker
he is a dealer and can get you a good price...

part of what happened is HD put the old design in and these
newer bikes are making a lot more TQ than they used to, the
design just couldn't hold up.... I agree they should have redesigned it.

Thought you were going with the baker...

Been a problem for decades. My '99 FLHR's compensator went out within a couple years of purchase, and not many miles back then (was active duty at the time and didn't get to ride much).

I went non-HD for replacement. Why pay them for their defect is the way I saw it.

'thought about the baker but my guy says he likes the new SE comp. and has great success with it. My primary cover doesn't have the epoxied oil vane,it's cast into the cover so not sure the baker would work with it.. I don't know... I'll take my chance with this indy..He sounds confident. I'm at the mercy of whoever.....Friggin motor co.

Well with what the MoCo is doing, sending more jobs overseas, I suspect they will lose some business. I know several old hardcore HOG riders in the club are not buying HD anymore. They buy new bikes every 2 years and just recently got fed up with the recalls. They are going Indian.

    Well in his defense Charlie,
he can only ride that thing about 4 to 5 months
    out of the year....

Take him twice as many years to get the riding miles
you do in the sunny free tax haven of the south!

Yeah I think that's already out, you can't drive through Ft Lauderdale
without hitting a NY bagel shop or Jewish deli oy vey!

I don't know about those jewish delis but those supposed "bagel" shops can't possibly be selling genuine NY bagels! I've traveled around a lot and even in NY the real McCoy is getting hard to find.
