Put 17000 miles in 11 months on my back tire. Time for a new one. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons between the Dunlop D407 and the Dunlop American Elite. the 407 really handled nice both on the highway and the Ozark Curves. And the Elite is about $80 cheaper. And should I put An American Elite on the back with the front still having a D408?

That new stock fat tire works pretty good and you got great mileage out of it. Don't know if the Elite comes in the same tire sizes. Why change when it ain't broke. :)

It says it is in "Tech Talk". I though it was a tech thread. Which location would you like? And how do you move it?

As a moderator I moved it to Bike Talk Tech Talk, you had posted in a moderator portion of it. Did you notice the different color and that no replies showed up coming back to you until I moved it. It can't be in the moderated portion.
No problem seems to be a glitch in the system as others have done it to.

However I did reply to your question about the tires. :D

I switched to the American Elite Tires as soon as they where available. The Screaming Eagle tires seemed so expensive. The American elites have the same construction except for a slightly different tread pattern. They are available at Dennis Kirk, com. The Elites perform as well, last as long and you don't have to get them through H-D which means $$ stays in my pocket. Would highly recommend them.

No. I deal mostly with Dennis Kirk. Good prices and free delivery(usually 3 days). I'm sure other sites treat you good also. Mine is a 09 FLHX, 68K on it. 'Get almost, sometimes over, 20K per set.

Air pressure and balance play a lot into miles for a tire.
I ran the American Elite, it's made by Dunlop and it's the same
tire as the HD Dunlop tire, it just doesn't say Harley Davidson
on the side, not any difference other than price and name...

I get mine through www.harleypartscheap.com, drop shipped
to the door, call Phil for a price... might as well compare them
all... He's a single employee bike shop in Concordia KS... Known him for years

Yeah I just bought some gasoline scent from him, He has a few bottles of the stuff it's mainly used at NHRA/Drag racing events so the nitro methane isn't so strong, most popular and strongest is groovy Grape,

Fuel Fragrances - Power Plus Lubricants

I bought his last bottle of Reefer Madness, $13, LOL dunno if I"m gonna run it or put it in a buddies bike at biketoberfest so he smells like a stoner as he rolls main street...
