I want to put a fairing on my 2009 Road King. What is the best aftermarket fairing? How about a stereo? I am going to add the tour pack this summer now that I have all the custom chrome on, so I want speakers in the back as well as in the fairing. What are the best brands to shop? Any and all comments are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Hogtunes make good speakers. Just installed on my street glide using the stock stereo. Don't have to turn the radio up so loud to hear the music. Hogtunes don't really need an amp. If you go hawg wired they will most likely need an amp. Just my two cents.

Hog tunes will probably have the best complete kit but I went with J&M speakers in my FLHTC with stock radio, sound is crystal all the way to 80 mph. I only have fronts and they have plenty of sound, no amp required and they do have the rears available.
Make sure any head unit you buy is water proof!!

If you wait till they have a big rally the folks will be there with a lot of different fairing.
    They will install them too.
Forgot how many vendors for fairings was at the LoneStar Rally this past year.
Lot of folks was having them installed too.

I ran into a distributor who installs dragonfly fairings. Dragonfly has opennings for two 6.5 inch speakers instead of the Harley 4 inch speakers. I know bigger isn't always better, but comparing speakers of the same brand, the bigger should sound better. Any opinions on these fairings? He also recommended an Alpine stereo.

Cool Cardboard, we agree Alpine makes a good stereo, how about speakers? I realize sound is a hard thing for people to agree on, but crisp and clear when loud is key no matter what kind of music you like. I plan on putting speakers in the back as well. If I get 6.5 for the front, what size fits in the tourpak in the rear?

I got the Biketronics 6 1/2 " speakers to go with the Harley Radio.
    Think I need a Amp..
They are not loud enough, they distort when you git them loud.
    I have loud pipes too.
When you spend money on this stuff and its not right, you git disappointed on screwing up.

Wished I had of gotten the 7 1/2 J&M speakers. These are suppose to be the largest you can git in a fairing.

Everybody hears at different ranges. Unless yer deaf like me.

This is another reason I was stating.
Save yer money, go to a Rally and listen to them.
let them install it on yer bike.

Think it will be money well spent.

Tom, good friend of mine Glenn owns a company called Woody's Farings

motorcycle fairings for VTX, Valkyrie, Road King & Heritage Softail

He worked for 7 years for Hoppe and then decided
to go it alone, it's a one man shop now but he's
doing very well and does a good job on the product.

You can get it with radio or not plus some other options.

There is also Dragon Fly, Kuryakyn, Hoppe, Dead Center etc.

    Google any of those manufacturers..
