    Can you suggest the best all-around-do-it-yourself work manual for dummies? The bike is an 85 Evolution to start with, lots of chrome & a bunch of extra stuff I'm not real sure about, and recently been refitted with a completely new-from-the-factory 113 cubic inch S&S, Super Stock Ignition . . .

    The Harley Davidson service manual for your year evo. I used to have a website that sold HD manuals but do a google. As for the S&S they have pdf blow ups on their website and you can also call them for assistance. The S&S is basically an evo on steroids. The HD manual will get you through the basics like tune ups and maintenance and most repair work you will be able to handle. IF you try to tackle something more complicated it will tell you what special tools you need. Al
