I got tired of the plastic end on the choke cable, so I made a shaft with a pull ring and installed it. Took several hours to make the thing, as I had to tap a hole in the back side of it and put in an allen screw, but I think it's an improvement over the plastic one.
Finally, got my new Firestone rear tire on the other day. Lots of meat on this tire and it handles much better in the curves.

We have one french door with crystal knobs that I was lusting after for a knob for the shifter. Strongly vetoed by Mac the Wife LOL. The porcelain knob, however, looks and works fantastic. Lots of comments about it.

Perhaps next week, I'll have the front Firestone tire installed; same tread pattern and is a 3.25 x 19. Been thinking about getting a new rim and spokes for it also.

B.I., primer black Monte Carlo SS and a H-D in the dooryard? You've got some bad ass style going on! 305 H.O. or did you throw a 350 in it?

350, Holley 4 barrel, Idlebrock intake, 292 fireball cam and hurst indy 4 speed shifter. 7-10 miles a gallon. That sucks. It costs 70 $ to fill and I only get 200 miles a tank. 60's all the way around w/ original chevy rims

That's what I was thinking . . . well, boys, it's getting close to the end of riding season here. Didn't ride yesterday because it never really warmed up enough for me. Today it should hit 70 and I will be out and about.

I have decided to get a rolled edge drop center front rim from J&P; identical to mine except for the rolled edge. New chrome spokes, too.

I would really like to put a metal tool box under the rear rail of the bike, but the teardrop style I like so well is just too big. Been considering other options, like say, a metal cylindrical shaped canister with a screw on lid, or something similar, but can't find anything in the stores. Already have a bracket made . . .

MMMM....Some fatter sway bars, new shocks and coils, 17's with 245s-255s all around, nice set of 3:73s, ignition and head work to get the revs up, and you'd have a real nice twisty, hilly road burner for those N.H. mountain passes late at night.

Wore my black denim jacket today and it was just right with the long johns and extra shirt. It was 39 last night; got up to the mid 60s today. That's the minimum for me to ride. I hate the cold. Going down near freezing tonight, I hear . . . but there will still be a good riding day here and there till November.
