Well, as I am looking for that next bike, which I have got it down to two, either bike that I get is going to have a kicker put on it. One transmission is a stock HD tranny, and the other is a Sputhe Engineering tranny.

Are there any special tools that I will need in order to do this for either transmission?

I have been looking around for instructions on how to do the install, but have found nothing.

    Any help would be awesome..

I don't think thwere any special tool's needed for the swap , as it can be done in the bike , find the web site for the sputh trans & see if they even offer a kick set up for that model trans ,can't remember who offers the kit for the H D trans

I was at their site and I found the kit, but it did not say that there were instructions included or not. I looked at a different site and there was a special tool that was needed.

My question to you JB is why. Have you ever kicked over a high compression engine before?

Not me and I am glad that new technology has replaced the kick start. I've watched some guys kick start there bike, that is way to much work, especially for an old guy like me with heart issues.

Kick startin' a 9.5:1 compression Evo requires a certain amount of lead in your a$$. I weigh 200 lbs. and sometimes my bike starts easy, and sometimes I gotta work at it until I give up and push the "handicap button". I'm gettin old too, ya' know.

Just for us ol guys _ put a fake kicker on it & hit the button at the right time. Bame starts first kick every time! ;) Only seasoned vets would know the difference

Yeah I get it but I think that I would leave the electric start on just in case. I am not sure what the compression is on either of these bikes are, but all I know is that I want a kick start. Maybe a shovel head will be easier to start. I am getting up there in the weight column too. :)
