Started buying parts for my 124 build. Waiting for a part to arrive then off to Florida they go for head work. Can't wait!

So you're piecing together a 124?? Wouldn't a crate 124 be easier and less expensive? Then send heads and manifold out for a massage n blend.
I guess that means the hotrod shovel is out,eh

Have fun been there got the T shirt.

Based on the experience I'd just opt to buy a crate
124 (probably a 143 LOL) and shelve building one.

Like building a hot rod muscle car today nobody
rebuilds old engines or bores them out when you
can buy 500 HP in a crate with a warranty.

I'd opt for the 124 SNS, spend the winter bolting
it into the frame, getting it tuned and riding the sucker

Great! Because of the crappy weather I am going to have to wait a bit longer to get what I need down to Florida. Mother Nature Sucks!

Not to beat a dead horse, but I rebuilt my Jeep's 258 straight-six back in '96 (with some HP improvements). The pride in doing so was good for about six months, then the feeling of "D'oh!" took over when I did the math and realized I could have had a Chevy 350 for over $500 less...and I'd have been driving it 4 months sooner. Just FYI.....dang, that horse is starting to stink...
