    Looks good , what year is your Ironhead ,? right side shift says before 73

    I had a 68 my brother had a 69 & a friend had a 72 , then another guy we knew got a 73 but it had the left side shifter those few years are foggy in my mind hell they were foggy even then , But do remember they where some fast bikes from light to light or bar to bar

    Yup, they were quick. Had a blue '72, first year of the 1000cc Sportsters. Lot of 'em had slipping clutches.

    As I remember, the clutches slipped because of the added power of another 117 cc's. I'd heard that some of the bikes went back to the dealerships for an upgraded clutch. Mine went in for an adjustment and all was well, but then I didn't hot rod mine - at least not too much :rolleyes:.

    Well if I can get a pic on here its coming along fine. Re assembled and has been fired up just some minor things to attend to that I'm told are handy to have like the seat and brakes. A little fine tweaking and it should be ready for the lock tight check.
