As a consequence of how spread out the members are on the biketalk forum, Kansas looks like the fairest state. So yes or no...if the meet and greet was held in Kansas would you attend?

And if the members are in agreement of meeting in Kansas we can discuss where. Kansas has some great riding roads, check out the st rt 400 from pittsburg,KS all the way to Colorado for example.

I disagree with you IF you're looking for scenic and historical area's to ride. If you're looking to party hearty with thousands of other said motorcyclist at some over priced and typical cash grab then I agree with you.

Kansas is steeped in western cowboy and indian history not to mention the gangster era of the 1930,prodibition, Ma Barker, Pretty Boy Floyd, John Dillinger. I believe Comanche, surviving horse from Custer Last Stand, is on display at Ft Leavenworth,KS.

I been on that State rt 400 from Pittsburg,KS thru to Colorado. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the prairies of Kansas with the rocky mountains in the western skyline. The wheat fields. The hundreds of miles of unincumbered roadway. While not the 70+mph of the interstate it was a respectable 60-65 mph with stops in Dodge city and Witchita to name a few.

The better riding started when we left Kansas and entered Colorado.

Just trying to throw out a spot that is in fair distance to all the persons who showed an interest in considering a get togather. Whether it is Kansas or not is not up to me. Thats why its a poll. If Kansas gets shot down I will poll who wants to meet at Sturgis next. Or as I've posted throw out a number of desired area's and will poll them too.

Only thing for certain is that the majority of posters did not want it during a rally. So perhaps the compromise is it can be held at Sturgis but not during the rally week?

Thats a sh*tty attitude. In order for something like this to occur it would recquire traveling or trailering on everyones part. And a willingness to compromise and be fair. Qualities not notoriously found on forums. I keep forgetting. Thanks for reminding me.

Its not even certain that there will be a get together. The polls were taken to see who was interested. There was enough yes's and maybe's to go a little farther. Then it was polled that the majority did not want it during a rally. Then it was determined that Kansas was the fair location based posters geographical location.

Perhaps any large scale get together is impractical.

I think most would like a place that has some unusual natural attractions, like mountains, lakes, etc. If CO is not included as a destination, I would venture a good vote for SD since it has those features and is still fairly central to the country. Can't beat the Black Hills for beauty in the mid-west.

There's plenty to do in Las Vegas, and lots of motels and hotels.
JMO- if you don't go to Sturgis just before or during the rally why go at all.
I'll vote for Colorado mid August, tourist every where, everyone will fit right in.
The opinions expressed are solely only mine.

Sure, great for midwest and west coast folks but thats not a fair distance for those on the east coast. There are a lot of nice places but its only fair to chose a location that splits the distance between those in Maine NY,NJ etc.. Further I was figuring the meet to be something where meeting each other and riding each other was the objective. I'm not always right.

I can't get away for anything like this but if you want something somewhat centrally located, I'll throw Arkansas out there. Great scenery and roads.
