    Hi Ken,
i read a similar thread you had with a guy named brian, I have a 2006 xl1200c a true 1200 not a 883 convert I bought the bike last year and put 4000mi on it last season, it ran well except for a slight popping on warm up once it was warm it ran fine. so wanting to get rid of this condition entirely i when stage 1 arlen ness big sucker aircleaner, cvp premium rebuild kit of which i used the jet sizing chart provided and installed 46 idle and 185main and lastly cycle shack ss130 slip on mufflers.

Here's the problem from a stop you have to really play the clutch because of popping/backfireing, after you get up to speed /cuising 40-45 mph you get the pop/hesitation this condition now exists cold or hot. at an idle blipping the throttle the engine seems to respond well. mixture screw is set at 2 1/8-2 1/4 while out riding i have tried to fine tune it but it didn't help, any suggestions before i put it back to stock? oh btw i should mention i did do the vacuum leak check as described on the cvp site no leaks detected.

    thanks Chuck
