I am supposed to pick up a running 76 electra glide tomorrow (amf)It looks pretty rough but the motor was rebuilt 2000 miles ago.The wiring has to be all redone.I can do alot of this stuff myself I have played with shovels for years.Paint is real bad.The guy tells me it is a bicentenial model. It has a huge tour pack faring and saddle bags white with a red, white and blue sticker on them.I am not paying very much for the bike and hope to fix it up a bit and sell it.I was just wondering if it was worth more because it is a special modle.not sure if I should strip it down or try to keep it original. It is a complete bike every thing seems to be there. It sure is not a pretty bike but may be a colector.Anyone had one of these?Anything I should know?
    Thanks Viking

Sounds like a fun project providing you can sell it for enough to make a profit after repairs. Post up some pics. :)

I got her home what a beast. It was not rideable as it was half apart.I started it and it runs really well except for a small knock in the bottom end but I am about 90% sure it is coming from the comp.sprocket.It idles away like a typical 1200,Ice cold start her up and walk away and she just keeps going.shut it down and when you restart it it dose not make a half turn and it is running again.can't be much wrong with it.I will try to get some pics soon.

They are coming I just did'nt get time today to take pics.I got the bike all transfered into my name and then went through boxes of parts that came with her.Hosed her off and managed to get shovelhead grease on the old lady. She is a good sport and laughed and said it has been a while since that happened.

I remember those :) I like it however looks better without the white bags and white front fairing on it. You going to paint the bike all one color? :)

Not being in a rush is good and gives you something to do.
